We returned shortly after our meeting with Nate and his group of humans. I was so relieved, we had escaped again. How many more times could we get by? We couldn't be this lucky much longer, and I didn't want to be there, when our luck ran out. Jeb was obviously overly excited by our news that there was not only 1, but 4 other groups of hidden people. But his excitement quickly turned to rage.

"We should be helping each other, you said they were trading between the different cells?" I nodded. "Well what about us way out here in the middle of nowhere? Risking our lives to get cheetos this is ridiculous " I giggled, it really was outrageous. Jeb glanced at me, not the time to laugh, It would take some time to get used to this body.

"Jeb I'm sure if they knew we were out here they would try to reach us somehow, but it is dangerous Jeb is they see action out here, they may put two and two together and realize something is going on out here."

"You're a smart kid, Wanda, always looking for the best in things it's a good trait, something we, need around here." He patted me on the back. I took that as a prompt to go and help Ian, and Jared finish unloading the Van. But then I heard that all too familiar voice behind me, blocking the exit from the game room.

"Hey Wanda, welcome back"

"Hey Jamie, I turned around and was struck by how much he had grown in the few short months I was gone. I walked toward him and he turned to follow me out of the room. I could vaguely hear Jeb's irritated voice yell, "you should be in school, kid" I smiled; It was nice to be back home. Jamie parted half way to get back to class and I stepped outside just as Jared said, "We just finished, you're right on time" It was too dark to see his face, but I could tell he was smiling. It was weird; Jared acted completely different toward me now that Mel had her body back. I guess I sort of expected it, but not to this degree. We almost had a brother/sister relationship. We cared for each other, but we fought more than we loved, disagreed more than we agreed. I couldn't seem to change my view of him, It stuck with me, and I had a feeling it would for a long time. An arm appeared around my waist and I looked up to see Ian's beautiful blue eyes looking down at me. We walked back into the caves together, and suddenly my feelings toward Jared didn't matter anymore, I was a new person.
