Heart pumping against my chest
As I watch all get eaten away
All my hope, my favorite,
It favored me.
Gone, lost in one big bite
One large swallow.
Cowardice causing my body to betray me.
Courage not there to guide it.
Plucking at me, picking me up
Dropping me with little effort.
Yet, my savior comes, wrenching me out
Throwing me at the roof of my despair.
I fail to save him as he reaches out
And the roof collapses
And he's lost to the belly of the beast.
