Hi everyone! It's been a while. But, I'm here with my sequel to "Chuck Versus The Babysitting", if you want to check it.
I need to thank my beta reader, Marnie for the amazing and fast work on revising my fanfiction.
Needless to say, even though it's written that this story takes place two months after my previous fanfiction.
Enjoy reading!
2 months later
The little but cozy house had been surrounded by people since mid-afternoon. The house seemed small on the outer side, but inside, it was quite roomy. After passing through the red front door there was a hall with a staircase and two divisions, one on the left, one on the right. Peeking to both sides, Sarah saw that the living room was situated through the left door and the dining room to her right. The open kitchen linked both dining and living rooms, and had a door to the backyard. Except for the kitchen, where the floor consisted of white tiles, wooden boards floored the rest of the house. The majority of the house was mustard colored. Upstairs there were three bedrooms and a bathroom. The bathroom was conveniently placed in front of the stairs and there were bedrooms at either side of it. Chuck and Sarah took the master bedroom, for themselves, on the left, at the end of the hall. The nursery was going to be across the hall, eventually, and the other room was to remain a spare bedroom.
Chuck was happy to pull off the "FOR SALE" sign that had been perched on the lawn. It was his, Sarah's and their three babies, who were coming in five months, house. They were unloading boxes and furniture and now, almost two and a half hours later, they had finished it.
"Thanks a lot for doing this, guys. If you hadn't helped, we would have never gotten everything done this fast." Chuck said to Morgan and Casey.
"Hey, no problem, buddy." Morgan said cheerfully. "Well guys, I have to go. Buy More needs its manager." Morgan then turned around and headed to the door, heading to the Buy More, and Chuck went to the master bedroom room. After having built the bed, he laid down the mattress atop the wood structure and tucked in the sheets. On the bedroom there isn't nothing else than the bed, the chest of drawers and a built-in wardrobe, having three mirrors as its doors. There's also a bathroom inside the room, with a shower and a washbasin.
"When are you getting the furniture for the kids?" Casey asked, walking outside with Sarah.
"Maybe next month, or on the following one, Chuck and I don't want to rush things. Even though we'll find out about the sex of the babies tomorrow."
"Have you thought of names yet?"
"No, but we are open to suggestions!" Sarah put her hands on her back; the weight of her belly was too much for what she had been used to.
"Well, I was thinking about one."
"Well, tell me!"
"Jayne, for a boy."
"Jayne is a girl's name!"
"Hey!" He said offended. "No it's not! I've met a guy named Jayne and he was one hell of a guy. He was a hero! But, if you don't want it, at least think of the name Cobb."
"Uhm, I like Cobb. Oh," She put her hand over the belly. "One of them liked it too! But you know, Chuck and I were thinking of naming one of the kids Casey, after you. I suggested as a girl's name-"
"Jayne is a girls' name, but Casey can be put on a girl! I'm very man, Walker!"
"Casey it's a unisex name."
Casey groaned, but agreed. "Uh, thinking about it, it isn't bad at all."
Casey left and Sarah met Chuck in the master bedroom. He had been really committed to the house, going there almost every day, starting to paint some of the walls. Now, she found him lying, on the bed, face up with his hands behind the head.
"Chuck, Casey just made a suggestion for a name."
"Was it good?" He asked, surrounding her hips and pulling her to the bed.
"Cobb, for a boy."
"I think we better start taking notes."
"The walls look really nice, by the way."
"I'm not pretty great with painting, but I think I handled it." He admitted while grabbing a small notepad and a pen that were on top of a box. "Ok, so we have Cobb for boy,"
"Casey for girl or boy…Dylan and Joshua for boy,"
"Sam for girl, Stephen for boy,"
"Alexander for boy and Leah for girl."
"Ok," He sighed, "a lot of choices!"
"We'll find three good names." Sarah said, gently placing a kiss on Chuck's lips.
At Ellie and Devon's house were Chuck, Sarah, Morgan, Casey and Alex, all reunited for a nice dinner.
"So, please guys, tell us!" Ellie asked, once dinner was over.
Chuck rose from his chair and spoke. "First, let me thank you, Ellie and Awesome, for letting us do the dinner over here. As you know, our house isn't quite ready yet! Now, I'm happy to say that Sarah and I are expecting two boys and a girl." The others got up to congratulate the couple, but Chuck had something else to say. "Also, we have chosen the names as well. For the girl we decided to name her after Sarah's born name, Samantha Lisa. For the boy, we decided to name him after a very important person, and yes," He laughs, looking at Casey. "We considered your opinion! So, one of the boy's name is Casey Cobb."
Casey got up and hugged both Chuck and Sarah, saying. "That means a lot, guys."
"Thank you Casey for this sudden manifestation of affection!" Chuck joked and everyone laughed at Casey's display of compassion. Once he was seated again, Chuck continued. "The other baby will be named Stephen Jay," Chuck looked to his sister, saying, "because of dad."
It was a great dinner in the company of friends and family. A day after finishing moving in the new house, expecting three children and being surrounded by people who loved them, made Sarah and Chuck feel that they could've been finally realizing part of their dreams.
"I don't want to believe this." Sarah said after brushing her teeth, walking over to the bed. She lay on the bed next to Chuck. "This life that we're living."
"Why not? Isn't this great?" He asked, turning around to face her.
"Yes." She placed her hands to his face and pulled him for a kiss. "Yes, it's, great, too great. I'm always waiting for the day when all this falls apart. Is it wrong if I feel this way?"
"No. It's understandable and reasonable considering our job. But I assure you I'm here for whatever comes. And right now, the only thing we should be worrying about is these three little kids," he placed his hands on his wife's belly and she put hers overtop his, "growing up right now."
"I think we are doing pretty good so far. They have a daddy who's committed to turn mommy's dream house into their home, he's caring with her and he cares about them too. I don't think we have much to worry about."
"I think that too." He kissed her belly, before moving on to her lips. "We will be a family, and that will always be our priority."
When Chuck awoke up in the morning, Sarah was already out of bed. He got out of bed when he heard the noise of boxes being unpacked. He dressed up and looked for her.
"Hi," She said, smiling when she saw him. "Good morning."
"Morning." He answered with a yawn, cuddling her from behind. "What are you doing awake so early?"
"I'm just unpacking stuff."
"Give me a box, I'll help you."
There are a lot of cupboards and countertops to fill in. Most of the electrical appliances were brought from the previous house, except for the dishwasher, built-into the whitish furniture. They gradually unpacked everything in the kitchen and moved to the master bedroom. While unpacking and storing clothes Sarah lifted up her shirt and looked at a mirror, evaluating the size of her belly. "Am I getting bigger or it's just me?"
Either denying or agreeing with her would make her mad because she knew she was getting bigger. So, Chuck felt he had no better move than compliment her. "You still look beautiful."
"I'm getting big! Too fast!" She grumbled lowering the shirt.
"You know the babies need space of their own. And you should consider your current state as something good; the doctor says you're healthy but that you are the patient who has gained the least weight."
"Will I lose all the weight I'll gain?" Sarah asked, her eyebrows furrowing.
"If you still want to come jogging with me, I don't think you'll ever gain those pounds!"
"Yes," She approached him and grabbed him by the shirt, "jogging with you. The last time you went running had been two weeks ago, Mr. Bartowski! You're neglecting your trainings."
"You know, the moving, the paintings, …the house...!"
"Excuses! You need to be on shape!"
"Are you saying I'm not in good shape? I'm gaining some weight in solidarity!"
"So I am gaining weight!"
"But you still look good!"
"Exactly!" She grabbed the clothes again and hung them in the closet. "I don't want a potbellied man!"
"Alright, tomorrow I'm starting my trainings tomorrow. You think you'll be okay alone?"
"I'm never alone anymore." She looked at him and smiled, rubbing her slightly swollen belly.
Oh, since I watched Firefly, I understood a lot better the references both on the shows Chuck and Castle. So, I had to put a little reference in my story too! :) So, tell me if you're liking it.
