Knowing something's lost

This is about loss and casualty characters are constantly facing loss. I wrote it when I was seven and we lost the most important person in our life. Critisism accepted because it's really quite rubbish but I was only 7! For Tilda in memory of mum xxx

Knowing something's going and it isn't coming back.

Makes you think happiness has ended and the future will be black.

Knowing someone's left you, never to return,

Starts up a fire inside you that starts a never-ending burn

But at least you have the memories, the snapshots from before

The snippets of what life was like before the hatred and the war.

You can hold these up close to you, never to forget

Because you've got your life ahead of you- that hasn't left you yet.
