"Sawyer!" McGee's innocent voice yelled out in the distance. I groaned and stretched. "Ow," I whispered as I felt something sharp poke me from within my shirt. I slowly opened my eyes and pulled out a pin. A basketball with a silver perimeter surrounding it, with the words Good Luck Making the BASKETBALL TEAM! Scratches were edged under those very words. I raced my finger across the words. For this was no regular pin. I had got this on the day I died.
"Sawyer!" Elizabeth yelled, waking me from my slumber. I smiled as I saw the little two-year old jump up and down in her little purple princesses dress. She was my little sis. Elizabeth handed me the pin. "Mommy made it, and I got to help!"She said, pointing at the scratches. I laughed. "It's wonderful sis." Elizabeth beamed. "Good luck Sawyer!" Mrs. Pinner, or my mom, said. I beamed. "Thanks mom." Today was the day I was trying out for the basketball team, with my friend Bruno. Ding! "That must be Bruno," mom said, walking to the door. Outside was a dark-haired boy with dark brown eyes. "Good morning Mrs. Pinner," Bruno exclaimed.
I had felt sick to my stomach. Bruno and I were outside the school's gym. "I don't know if I should do this, Bruno." "Ah, come on Sawyer! Who was the one who has practiced since summer?" "Me." "Who went on and on and on and." "Me, Bruno." "Alright then, Sawyer. Then you'll ready!" "Yes, yes I am." "Good, because I already signed you in." "Wait, what?" Bruno gave me a friendly shove.
"Whoa, Mr. Pinner, you have some skills!" my gym teacher exclaimed, after I shot ten shots in a row. I smiled as he told me I was in. On our way back home, it was Saturday, Bruno and I bantered. "Alright Mr. Pinner, the next basketball champion, I, Bruno your sectary, have to go another way." I laughed. "Okay sectary. Remember to file out those papers." Bruno laughed as he left. Suddenly I felt like I was being watched. "Who's there?" I asked. That's all I remember.
"Sawyer!" McGee yelled again. "Aahhhhh!" he yelled as something big and hairy pulled him into the cafeteria. "Ssssh!" Armand whispered. "What?" Everyone, except me, was there. (Armand, Squirt, and Gretchen.) "Look!" McGee looked out the window. Government looking people were looking around the camp. McGee gulped as he thought of me. I had no inkling. "McGee!" I yelled, looking around the camp. That's when I saw them, and they saw me. A dark-colored man raised up a gun. "Put your hands on the ground, you zombie." I gulped. Slowly, I put up my hands. "Stop!" Gretchen, McGee, and Squirt yelled, running out of the cafeteria. A loud bang suddenly came with intense pain.
