Video Games
Mello awoke holding back a loud scream and basically in a cold sweat. Again.
Because, one again, he had that dream. The one about what happened to his parents.
And just the thought of it made him shudder.
After a moment, he checked the clock, 11:17, he probably should have gone back to sleep, then again, if he did what he should do, he wouldn't be Mello, would he? So instead, he decided to try to stay awake all night.
…But what could keep him up?
…Video games. They were the answer. He guessed sharing a room with that red head did have its advantages. The blonde turned on the T.V., being sure to turn the music down nearly all the way as well as immediately darkening the screen due to the fact that he thought he would go blind if he had to look at it for more than twenty seconds.
After playing Final Fantasy X for about an hour, Mello had somehow managed to fall asleep on the hard, wood floor in front of the bright screen.
And again, he had that dream and woke up in a cold sweat, however, this time, he did scream. Very, very loud.
"Damn, Mels, you ok?" Matt groggily asked from the other side of the room rubbing his eyes.
"Y-yeah…" he replied very unconvincingly.
"What happened?...And why is Final Fantasy on?"
"Nothing Matt."
"You have that dream again and find another way to fail at keeping yourself awake?"
"…Maybe…"
Matt sighed and opened his arms as if beckoning the blonde over to him, and Mello responded by blushing and pretending to pout and attempting to be stubborn. However, immediately after Matt put his arms down and frowned, the blonde ran over to his bed and snuggled into the others arms with a slight blush still remaining on his cheeks.
"Night Mels," the gamer whispered before placing a small kiss on the other boy's lips, and they drifted off to sleep in each other's arms, forgetting the brightness of the T.V., the background music still playing throughout the night.
Way #27 not to stay awake: video games.
Excuse #1 to fall asleep with Matt: that nightmare.
Maybe that dream wasn't all bad if it got him what he wanted this much.
