Whenever Raito or L weren't on the hunt for the elusive Kira, Misa, L and Raito would dine together. A triangle is stable, no matter what the situation. No building, bridge, or geometrical problem would stand without one. And so, they would sit together and eat.
In the duration of the Kira case, Misa only fell ill once. She was coughing and phlegming all over with her pretty pallid profile, her pleasing pink sheets. She wouldn't let Raito see her like that, so uncute without her makeup and her hair tangled in golden, silky webs. So L took care of her.
Somehow, L managed to sneak in some chocoate or candy because he knew that Misa liked them, and fellow sweets lovers are always sweet to each other. They were greedily eaten, and L looked at Misa with his messy, bed hair and black rimmed eyes, and Misa looked back at her with tangled, bed-strewn hair and red-rimmed eyes. Both looked equally silly with their appearance and bulging cheeks, and Misa giggled.
After L's death, Misa really didn't feel anything. She was glad that the pervert that was attached to Raito-kun was gone, and that there was only one person that Raito could look at /that/ way, now. There was a nagging feeling of empty space, but there are others, albeit less obsessed than L was with sweets that would be more than delighted to befriend Misa.
Once, Misa baked a cake. It was a week after L's death. The cake was adorable; the frosting was a delicate, spicy pink and had brown roses, therefore Misa knew that it would taste good inside.
She carefully sliced off a portion of the spongy cake and then sat down.
She said softly, "Thanks for the food."
Misa took the first bite with reverence.
