Buster shifted into a lower gear as he went up the steep grade, his wipers keeping in a steady whine with the rain pouring on the windshield. He hadn't slept in two days just so he could come back to his home town. A truck drivers life was just that no sleep and sitting alone in the cab of that truck. He had called home only to find out from his moms neighbor will that she had passed on. Buster was tearing up the diesel engine in his old mack rumbled as he topped the hill just a few more miles and he would be home. The empty trailer the old truck hardly seemed to hardly notice it was pulling he started to cry as he saw the forks Washington sign. He rolled down main street, and pulled over. As he stepped out he puked, a cop car pulled up and said sir are you okay oh my god buster is that you. Buster looked up, as officer Cullen got out and said im sorry do u want me to call someone or will you make it home. Buster said I think I will be okay hows your daughter doing. Officer swan said shes married to your neighbor will. Buster spit some puke out and said I always thought she would marry old Cullen. Anyhow I want to get home. Officer Cullen said well if you need anything just ask bella or will. Buster climbed back into his truck and drove off. As he pulled up to his mothers house he saw an old orange truck in the driveway. A blonde haired guy was sitting on its tail gate drinking a beer. He parked beside it and stepped out. The guy said you must be buster im will, I used to come over and help your mom with her house work. Buster said thanks. Will said no problem its what neighbors are for, bellas inside she wanted to surprise you with a home cooked meal. Buster said thanks will, I see why bella fell for you. They walked into the house buster kicked off his cowboy boots as bella yelled buster get in here I want to see you. She hugged him and said I hope you don't mind that I coocked meatloaf. Will laughed and said here have a beer, as buster popped the top will said so whats the open road like. Buster said it got lonely. They chatted for a few hours over everything under the sun. will finally said well im drunk and I need to get to bed come on bella we need to go. As they left buster went to the cabinet above the sink and pulled out a bottle of vodka. He chugged it as he layed down on the couch.
