Early in the morning, in the boy's dorms of the Slytherin tower, Draco Malfoy was awake. He couldn't sleep, because he had way too much on his mind. Whether it was his constant reminder of the Unbreakable Vow, or someone he was feeling for, he wouldn't know. All he knew was that he needed to stop thinking about her.
It was Mudblood Granger he couldn't stop thinking about. He loved her, but he couldn't explain why. She was smart, and even a little pretty, but he didn't know why he liked her. She was a Mudblood for Merlin's sake. Mudbloods were forbidden to him, no matter what. If he thought about Mudbloods all his life, he'd never get his work with Voldemort done.
Draco shivered slightly. He couldn't believe he actually thought the name...Speaking it was bad enough...He didn't want to kill anyone, really. That whole thing with You-Know-Who was for his dad, not himself...He didn't want to have to kill anyone that would hurt Hermione, or make her hate him even more. He shook his head as if to rid his memories of her, and of the Vow...
As if today wasn't bad enough...Hermione Granger had been so wrapped in her work. The fact that Harry was better at potions than her made her so furious, and it made her work even harder. Hermione found herself in the library all day, everyday. She also tried her hardest to get away from Harry's constant reminder about Malfoy being a Death Eater. It was absolutely annoying, really.
"No, but, I saw him." Harry kept saying, reminding Hermione of the time when they were at Diagon Alley. "You saw him." Harry kept saying everytime Hermione or Ron tried to say differently. Hermioen kept her thoughts to herself...
As if pulled out of a trance, Hermione glanced at Harry and Ron as they ate their breakfast. She turned her head towards the Slytherin table. There, in the middle of Crabbe and Goyle, was Draco Malfoy...And...He was staring at Hermione.
Hermione turned her head around quickly and blushed. Why was he staring at me? she thought to herself as she got up and headed towards the Gryffindor tower. Before she could reach the staircase to the tower, she knocked into someone.
The impact made her fall back, her books flying out of her bag. "Watch where you're going, Mudblood." she heard a sneering and cold voice above her. She gave him a fierce look and scrambled to pick up her books. She was close to telling him that she caught him staring t her, but she didn't think it wise.
"Maybe you should watch where you're going, Malfoy." she said angrily as she stood up. She perched her bag on her shoulder and sneered at Malfoy before she stalked up to the towers. She could have sworn that she felt Malfoy's eyes on her back.
