AN:

Before you read I just want to say that this is the new and upgraded version to the previous story I was writing (Running Around Leaving Scars) I'm sorry if its a hassle to any one but I realized there were a lot of random things going on and that some character's were abit unusually boring and confusing. This is still a Sheppard/OC romance kinda story. and I still don't own any Stargate character's that are mentioned or any thing to do with the show. This is an AU story as well and I will try to include as much as I can from the show. Input is always appreciated but remember I am human and I do have feelings there is no need to be nasty about a FanFic I'm obviously not a professional writer... well here goes, enjoy the story!

Aurora stared in disbelief as the ship she was asked to destroy suddenly had a woman appear in it, a woman she had never seen. The women looked frightened and confused but Aurora knew better than to let her guard down especially in a time of war amongst the galaxy, calling out to the security detail in the ship bay for assistance she headed to the ship's entrance.

"What seems to be the problem now," asked her commander his voice full of annoyance when he realized the ship was still in one piece contrary to his orders, orders that came directly from the council.

"Sir there is an unknown women in the ship, I don't know what she's doing in there or how she came to be in the ship. I thought the high council would want to question her," Aurora made it clear that this was not a delay she caused though the commander would probably not believe what she saw with her own two eyes.

"Exit the ship," the commander's voice echoed through the bay. Sometimes Aurora thought he spoke so loud because he was hard of hearing, in all actuality he could hear a needle drop on the other side of the room.

The woman opened the rear hatch and held her hands in the air. She was average in height with tasseled short hair pushed behind her ears; her build was small yet not fragile looking. Aurora pulled the woman out of the ship and held her by the arm in front of the commander.

"What is your name?" he asked the woman.

"My name is Dr Elizabeth Weir; could someone tell me where I am?" the woman replied in a less shaky voice than Aurora expected to hear.

"This is the city of Atlantis, and we do not know how you came to be here." The commander replied in a softer tone than before.

"Sir," Aurora interjected wanting to know what to do with the woman "what do you want to do?" she finally asked. The commander would respect her blunt questions more so than a dance of words.

"We will convene the Council at once, Aurora you are charged with finding Janus and bringing him to us." The commander ordered.

"Yes sir," Aurora reluctantly released Dr Elizabeth Weir.

As she walked down the corridors of her home city Atlantis she wondered if infect the machine Janus was working on had worked, and if so what did that mean for their future. Maybe if Janus was right, she could go back in time to when they woke the wraith and with her sister Trebal's help, just maybe they could end the war before it started. When she finally arrived to Janus's current lab, she pushed all those thoughts to a place far in her mind. Janus turned away from his computer and greeted her with a smile, his smile faded when Aurora's face remained serious showing that this was not a friendly visit.

"Is something wrong?" he questioned.

"You're time relativity devise might have worked, your presence is needed." Aurora explained carefully.

"How," he asked more interested in her words than moments before.

"I was about to disassemble the machine when a woman appeared in the ship, she is not of us and has no idea what happened. The commander will be taking her to the council and has anticipated that they may want your council on this matter." She walked over to his workstation and looked over his current work on hyper-drives. The work made her think of her sister Trebal. She thought back to how her father had decided she would be more suitable as first officer to the war ship her father named Aurora. In a way Aurora knew it was the right dissection but she would have liked to know that her father wanted to have her by his side, Aurora was better at war than her older more refined sister.

"Surely the Council will see that my experiment worked and will want to talk about a plan on how we can use this to our advantage," Janus spoke.

Aurora didn't have the heart to tell him that the evacuation had been pushed to a sooner time and that it was already in effect. Earth was a planet her people had come from but left do to a disease they could no longer fight, this was so long ago that they believed the disease had consumed itself. She was part of an earlier expedition to the planet Earth they preformed the necessary evaluations for viability and determined that returning would be safe enough.

"That's a possibility, have you heard from my father on the Aurora?" She asked letting the curiosity get the best of her. To long had passed since she had heard from her father ad sister, she could only hope that everything had gone well and they were on their way home in time for the final evacuation.

"No, but I am still hopeful as should you be." Janus smiled and motioned with his hand to lead the way.

Aurora escorted Janus to the Counsel's conference room, she waited outside listening carefully to the story this Dr Weir was telling. The story consisted of her saying she was from the future and that her expedition team had all died in the city with the exception of a Major Sheppard and a Dr Zelenka. The two men she escaped with had perished when they appeared in a planet the wraith were culling, This Major Sheppard left the safety of the ship to help a group of people and disappeared when the wraith ship flew over them, Dr Zelenka was shot dead and fell out of the rear hatch as it closed. Dr Elizabeth Weir wasn't sure what happened after because she arrived in the ship bay. As confusing as it sounded Aurora took this as a sign that both her sister and father would have a greater chance of returning.

Aurora's attention moved to Elizabeth and Janus exiting the conference room, the disappointment showed through both faces. Aurora hand known Janus well enough to know that he would find a way to help these people from the future it was who he w as. Unlike Janus Aurora, followed most rules and orders unless it was necessary to save a life from falling to the wraith.

"Aurora," the commander called her in to the conference room.

"Sir, council how may I be of service," she asked stepping in to the center of the room holding her head up.

"We have news of your father's ship," Melia said from her seat.

"When should I expect to see the captain and my sister," she asked knowing that she like the rest of them have to go back to working on evacuating the city.

"Aurora there is a transport ship headed our way the captain said the Aurora vessel had been destroyed, I am so sorry," Melia's words cut deep into Aurora.

"No I refuse to believe that," she responded. How could her father being the man he was fall, Her sister new the ship inside and out and was an expert on Wraith. Aurora looked around with disbelief remembering how her father promised to be back after securing a treaty with the wraith.

"Aurora you're father was a brave man few would volunteer for a mission as dangerous and even less so are those who would insist," Melia's voice was softer and compassionate but not enough to sooth the distress in Aurora's heart. After pausing for a moment, Melia continued "as hard as this may be to accept there is still a monster at our door do to this we have a favor to ask of you."

"You sent my Father and My sister along with the entire fleet to negotiate with these monsters causing their death, what more is there to fight for?" Aurora's tears were held back by the anger in her heart, how could they think the wraith would agree to stop killing any one?

"We all suffer personal losses Aurora, how we deal with them is what separates us from the Wraith. We must keep strong and fight for the survival of our people, the survival of our city, There will be time to grief for our loved ones but at this moment your people need you and your expertise." Myrddin explained moving so that he stood within arm's reach of aurora.

"What will you have me do?" Aurora asked letting Myrddin's words give her the strength she needed to help her people and the city she loved so much.

"This ship Janus as created must be destroyed, you are to take it to these specific coordinates where you will detonate an explosive strong enough to destroy all material used to create this time machine and once that is done the transport ship will pick you up and bring you here to evacuate with the last group. Once on the ship you will help aid them using the control chair to secure a passage home." Myrddin knew this would be a difficult task to accomplish but there was no one else who could do this.

"Why me," she questioned.

"You are well versed with our ships and the control chair; of all the people left to evacuate we can only think of one who is qualified enough." He explained letting himself offer comfort in the form of placing his hands on her shoulders.

"And the fact that this may as well be a suicide mission," she pointed out once she realized how dangerous this would be.

"We would not ask this of you if we thought this would be that dangerous," he said reassuringly.

"I'll do it because I agree that the transport ship may need help in the chair room." Aurora looked at the council gaining a thankful nod.

Aurora was well versed with Janus's work and felt a ping of guilt in destroying it, she also knew the council could not be sure about the Aurora falling. When the people of Lantea left she would stay behind and look for her father's ship, for that she would need her own ship one like the transport ship would suffice.

Janus was surprised to see aurora walk in to his lab with a look of determination, He had just finished explaining to Dr Weir that they should talk to Melia alone for one last chance.

"I leave when the sun falls and offers the cover of darkness, Janus I am to take your ship and destroy it off world." She said the words he'd hoped never to hear.

"This is ridiculous it worked! Why can't they see that this could be useful," he yelled in frustration.

"Because as you know time is sensitive any change to the past or present could rip the fabric of time and space," Aurora replied not thinking that using the machine she could go back and tell her father t was a useless idea to think the Wraith would consider a treaty.

"No if it did not happen when Elizabeth came why do you assume it will?" he asked condescendingly.

"Janus I'm sorry I wish I could help you but I need to get to the transporter so I can help our people return home safely." Aurora explained taking a seat at his workstation.

Janus stormed away to try to persuade the commander that this was a useful discovery leaving Aurora with Dr Weir.

Elizabeth smiled sitting next to her, she knew how difficult following orders you didn't agree with could be and she could tell that Aurora was not amused with her current orders.

"Aurora is it," Asked Dr Weir with curiosity as to why she had warned Janus about the immanent destruction of his creation.

"Yes, I am sorry that you are stuck with us I know we are not what your people thought we would be but I assure you some of us are happy knowing that our people will live on." Aurora knew what loosing an entire team felt like.

"thank you for your sympathy, and just like you I am happy t know that your people do live on, my people are so much like you I wish I could show you how much we have grown." Dr Weir said.

"Would you tell me about your expedition," Aurora asked genuinely curious to know about the people of earth.

Elizabeth was not shocked but gleeful that the Lanteans would be so interested in the future generations, she told her as much as she could remember from finding the chair back on earth and Major Sheppard setting it off accidentally to how excited they were to find the city intact. Janus returned to take Dr Weir to meet with Melia, he made Aurora promise to wait until then before leaving with the ship.

Aurora went to prepare for her journey, in the ship bay they were loading the ship with any material affiliated with the time machine. Janus found her and with a nod of his head let her know what the answer was 'no' he was disappointed but he obviously had another plan. Dr Weir smiled down at Aurora and watched as she flew the ship through slowly in to the gate room, she prayed for a safe journey as the ship flew through the star gate.

As Aurora left the gate room she hoped that her Father was in good health, she knew she would find him and her sister.
