Prompt #446 from tamingthemuse- Foreshadow
Note: From now on most of my tamingthemuse stories will be named as the challenge.
Xander had his good days and bad just like anyone else but his bad days usually consisted of him being disgusted by just looking at himself in the mirror. It had been over two years since the destruction of Sunnydale. Over two years since Buffy killed that prick, Caleb but Xander couldn't move on from the loss of his eye.
His friends were supportive of him. Giving him whatever support it was that he needed, from hugs and ice cream to leaving him alone. Xander had amazing friends. Spike was different though. Spike was his rock. It still amazed Xander that he was Spike aka William the Bloody aka Slayer of slayers. But since Spike had come to England from Los Angeles he had been different. Losing people you cared about did that to you, Xander knew that. Losing people close to you made you want to protect the people still here even more.
"You're worrying over your eye again," Spike said startling Xander.
"I'm not worrying, just thinking about it," Xander replied.
Spike sighed and pulled Xander into a tight hug. "Why are you thinking about it? What happened?"
"I heard some of the new girls gossiping about me," Xander said miserably. "They were trying to figure out what happened to disfigure me. Their words not mine!" Xander added quickly when Spike growled at him.
"Bloody bints, you give me their names and I'll beat them senseless in our next training session," Spike promised.
Xander knew Spike was serious but he didn't really care one way or the other. He knew Spike wouldn't do too much damage to any of them. "It's not just them. I was just thinking maybe there were signs this was going to happen. Foreshadowing I guess." He looked at Spike waiting to be laughed at. He was shocked when Spike didn't.
"There could have been. Living with a seer for over a hundred years makes one believe in a lot of things," Spike offered. "Also I think anyone who knows what we know would have to be crazy not to believe in that sort of thing."
"So you don't think I'm crazy?" Xander asked looking relieved.
Spike smirked. "Oh, I think you're absolutely bonkers! But that's one of the things I love about you."
"Thanks… I think," Xander replied.
Spike became serious. "Stop worrying about what's happened. You can't change it. If you don't you'll never be able to move on and be happy."
Xander felt compelled to reassure Spike. "I am happy, Spike." He kissed Spike. "It's just a bad day I guess. And I know you're right. I have to get used to people talking about the eye patch without getting all moody."
Spike pressed his hand against Xander's cheek. "We're all allowed bad days. God knows I've had a few but you don't have to deal with them alone. When you start feeling a bad day coming on do something to distract yourself."
"Do you have any suggestions on what I could do?" Xander asked innocently as he pulled Spike's shirt out from his jeans.
"Oh, I have a lot of ideas to help you," Spike replied softly as he started to undo Xander's jeans. He pulled Xander's jeans and boxers down his body. "And it happens that I happen to help in every single one of them."
Xander kissed Spike before saying, "things are already looking up." Spike was then on his knees in front of Xander. As soon as Spike's mouth touched him Xander forgot what he was worrying about.
The End
