"No," he whispered, "no!"
Stiles shot up out of bed. Closing his eyes, he could feel his heart racing. It had become almost a regular thing, to wake up in the middle of the night in cold sweat. The nightmares had started a week ago. Because a week ago from this particular night, Stiles' mom had died.
All he saw in his dreams were flashes of a well lit room, with his mother standing in the middle. Then it was just a blur of unintelligible voices screaming and flashes of blue-green eyes. The last thing he saw was his mother on the floor looking at him whispering one word…"go".
No one had ever figured out how or why his mother died. It was considered a cold case, as no evidence was ever brought up. The only thing that had been found was a black three pointed spiral, a triskelion he soon found out, branded on her arm. Ever since the nightmares had begun, Stiles had taken it upon himself to look up the meaning of the triskelion. Not being able to sleep and being hopped up on Adderall had its perks.
After hours spent researching, all he had managed to find out was that it could mean many different things. Honor, loyalty, and pack or mother, father, and siblings. This proving to be completely useless information, he checked family crests and any sign using the triskelion.
His research narrowed down to the Hale family of Beacon Hills. Being the Sheriff's son, he knew first-hand about the tragedy of the Hale fire. It had been called an accidental electricity malfunction on the news. But Stiles knew better, he knew it was arson.
What he didn't know was why it was covered up. The entire Hale family had been killed, except for two. Laura and Derek Hale. Not much was known of the remaining Hale members except the fact they preferred to be left alone.
But there had been whispers that the fire was the fault of Derek. Keeping to himself and constantly being dressed in black had given people their suspicions. But the rumors had soon died down.
Stiles could help but think, could it have been Derek? Had he any idea of what happened to his mom? So many questions and Stiles was determined to get answers.
