( My friend made me think some sad things about her. Set after they escape the Neo World thing, and she's back at home. It's in ruins, and it's partially her fault. I do not own Danganronpa. )

Sonia Nevermind, the Super High School Level Princess, has finally left Jabberwock Island, going home to her small country to see just what has become of it.

Slowly, she walks through the streets, crying. Children she knew from her childhood lay still, bruised, battered, and mangled on the sides of the road. Citizens she would see of varying colors, sizes, shapes, indiscriminately tossed about.

She knows it's all her fault. She does not remember, but she knows she was Ultimate Despair. She knows the damage she has caused, the lives she probably took.

As she glides down the streets of her once precious country, she cries. Her shouts of apologies fall down onto deaf ears, even as she breaks down crying.

What feels like centuries later, she stands up, face a mess, and makes her way to her former home. Her castle. The joys of the past are gone, the old building covered in moss and vines the gardener would have surely cleared, had he not been impaled on the wrought iron fence.

Sonia heavily steps into the castle, to the throne room, where her parents had last been. At the sight of their bloody corpses, limbs missing, completely rotted, she can't take it.

She sits down beside them, and hugs them, uncaring of how much blood and gore get onto her. She holds them for the final time, sobs racking her body. She can't bring them back. She helped cause this. She lays them down, then lays between them.

Sonia came back, years later. She walks with purpose to her rooms, donning her finest gown, and walking to the throne room. Her movements are shaky, but she has a stone cold face as she takes her mother's bloodied crown from off her head, and places it upon her own.

She pulls out a gun, hands shaking the entire time, as she walks up the steps and sits on the Queen's throne. Her posture is extraordinary, fit for one of her Royal Status. Finally, she opens her mouth. Words tumble out for the first time in two years, and they're croaky and rough.

"I could not protect my country. Instead, I saw fit to help destroy it. I could not see it fit to be a decent human, and so I do not deserve my status as a princess. Of royalty. I do not deserve a crown. I…" Her voice breaks, and she's crying, but she doesn't let it stop her from saying those final words.

"I will never be Queen."

And with that, she puts the gun to her head. The tears have stopped, but she doesn't dare dry them. Her eyes are cold and hard, like chips of ice. Hardened by death, or pain, of strength she once had being ripped away so forcefully. Her fingers close so loosely, almost reverently around the trigger. She listens with her eyes open to the sounds of screams of those few Novoselic survivors outside the broken castle walls. Her eyes remain open, her face a straight line, as this is her duty, her final Royal Duty, and she must face it head-on. The trigger is pulled, and no light leaves Sonia's blue eyes. The light had left years ago already.
