Aria was siting on a chair in Ezra's apartment in her little black dress, smiling to herself and looking at the ring on her left hand's ring finger.
Ezra had proposed.
She could hardly contain herself and couldn't wait to go to her girlfriends and tell them the fantastic news. She looked at Ezra who was on the phone, calling to let his family know about his engagement. Ezra hung up the phone and turned around. Somehow Aria had wanted to see Ezra a little more happy than he did.
"So, what did they think" Aria said smiling ear to ear.
"I was talking to Wesley and he was really happy for me but thought that I should know something about you before we jumped into this commitment"
Aria's heart skipped a beat. Did Wes tell him. No, things were finally getting better, after Ezra found out the Maggie had come up with the façade of Malcolm being Ezra's son and she couldn't loose him again. Not this time.
"He told me about the moment you two had at your apartment," He seemed to be controlling his anger that was there, undoubtedly.
"Ezra, it was just one time, you and I were going through so much trouble with Maggie and everything. It meant nothing, really.. You have to believe me" Would she loose him yet again?
"Yes Aria I know we were facing troubles but you don't see me pulling of such stunts with any girl I see. And you had a moment with my brother! How could you this to me? Did you think I would never find out?"
Yes, Aria and Wes had had their moment, and she wasn't going to deny it but she wouldn't stand Ezra blaming her for everything.
"You're going to blame this on me? Have you ever thought, that none of this would have ever happened if you would have been truthful about everything? About your engagement with Jackie, about the money you keep locked in your drawer and about history with Maggie. It's like I don't even know you..."
She was on the verge of tears
"Aria, I ..." Ezra couldn't say anything
"Yes, Ezra I have kept my fair share of secrets but they were only there to protect you. I told you about the -A business, about the Jenna thing and when I was with Jake it was only to protect you. Nothing I have ever said or done was suppose to create problems. But I need some clarity too."
"I understand that. You're right and I'm sorry"
He seemed genuinely guilty and his light blue eyes pierced through Aria's deep brown ones.
"I should have told you about all those things, but believe me when I say, that I would do anything for you and nothing has made me more happy than asking you to be my wife. Since that day at the bar, to when I was your teacher, to when we took pictures with paper bags on our heads, to Mike punching me, to us being at Hollis and then today. Every memory is imbibed in my mind. There's nothing more I want, than for you to be mine and nothing to be able to tear us apart. But we have to make a deal"
"What kind of deal?" Aria was interested.
"No more secrets?"
Aria smiled, there was nothing she wanted more. No more secrets, no more lies and no more -A.
"No more secrets" Aria repeated.
Ezra took her in his arms and they just stood there for a long time, being together and being one. They were going to get married and they were going to have their happily ever after and there was nothing more either of them could ask for. They pulled away and Aria began to collect her things to leave, a bride had to get her beauty sleep. The wedding bells were already ringing in her head and she couldn't wait for the real thing, first thing tomorrow morning. She smiled one last time at Ezra and left the apartment, on her way down her cell phone beeped. A text-message?
"Getting ready for a happily ever after Ms Montgomery? Not if I can help it, remember I'm everywhere. Kisses -A"
