Between Gods and Mortals

In retrospect she really should know better than wishing for a peaceful encounter, even just for this incarnation. Ever since she entered the estate it lapped at the edge of her senses, a vast cosmo just like hers, Athena's, only leashed by a mere mortal shell. A fellow Olympian; the question is, which one of them will present here tonight.

She felt mildly ill of the prospect. In her experience, an encounter with members of the divine pantheon never brings good for those involved.

She listened to Tatsumi's speech halfheartedly, eyes and cosmo scans the crowd as unobtrusively as possible.

'Please don't let anyone here get hurt,' she prayed inwardly. Even when the gods usually prefer to enact their plans with as much fanfare as possible, some of them do have a trickster's mind-set and when combined with their general disregard for human lives...

There, the feeling is muted but there's no mistake that the young head of the Solo family is in possession of the said cosmo.

Her heart raced; the Saori Kido side definitely appreciates being singled out by the suave Julian Solo but Athena only has wariness for him.

They left for a balcony. Good, maybe she can contain whatever that might happen.

A proposition, and he acknowledged that there is some sort of connection between them. While the marriage is pretty much a business deal between two conglomerates, the second part left her with dread. It might be just pretty words designed to convince that he really wants her as a person, but somehow she felt that the second option is what hold true, that whoever resides inside Julian Solo is close to awakening.

The Saori part rebelled at the prospect; she had been caught unprepared here and definitely not liking it at all. However, before she can formulate her thoughts, Athena interfered with a swift yet gentle rejection.

Saori wants to flee from those cosmo, it lashed out violently like the most terrible storms and frankly it terrifies her. Mixed with indignation, wounded pride and primal desire for conquest, it feels like a force of nature, unstoppable and ready to crush anything that stand in its way.

Given time, she might pursue the matter further from her own seat of influence but then Asgard came...

"You are... Poseidon," she said as finally all clicked into place. A spark of irritation made itself known, oh how she wishes that reincarnation also came with readily accessible past memories, it certainly would make her job much easier!

This time there's no running away, she might be trapped in the heart of the enemy's stronghold but the least she can do is to find out what Poseidon's plan and how to counter it.

Trying to write from Saori's perspective but might add from other characters' pov later. But first, cookies for those who review and gives constructive criticism (puppy-dog eyes) ^.^
