Chapter One:The Eye Opener.
*Sheriff Station*
"I swear that woman knows every single one of my buttons and it's her goal to push all of them at once." Emma yelled as she walked through the door of the station and slammed her coffee on her desk.
"Someone had a good meeting with our lovely mayor I see." Ruby replied with a small smirk.
"Ruby, this is not funny in any way. She took Henry away! The was supposed to be my weekend with him! We were gonna play video games and hang out and give MM hell about every thing!" Emma was yelling now. "He is still my son! Yes, she has raised him but I couldn't! I couldn't give him the big house and the nice clothes and the great education! I could not give him any of the things that she could and has given him!"
There were now tears streaming down the pale cheeks of Storybrooks sheriff. Ruby looked at her friend with heartbroken eyes. Sure, they had talked about her past but she had never seen Emma so...emotional.
"Emma..." Ruby began but fell short as there were no words that could be said.
"I gave him his best chance, Ruby. I gave him the chance that I never had. She loves Henry. Anyone with eyes can see that. But, I love him, too. There has never been a day since he was born that I haven't missed him and wanted to hold him; to hug him and smell his hair. I...just...couldn't..."
With that, Emma grabbed her car keys and ran out of the door that she had only just entered through. She didn't slow down when she nearly ran into the man waxing the floors. She didn't look around to see that she was clear of any other obstacles. And she didn't see the dark haired woman in the shadows of the dimly lit hallway who had just heard every word of her heartbreaking outburst.
