Hi people. This is my first fanfiction so I decided to start out with something simple. It'd be nice if you review but this story isn't really long enough for that so I'll just be happy if people just read it. This is my rendition of the meeting between Ichimaru and Rukia near the time of Rukia's execution. Hope you enjoy!

A smiling man haunted my dreams. He held my resolve in the palm of his hand, clasping it with his long, pale fingers while his barely opened eyes stared right through my entire existence.

"Rukia-chan, how much do you value your life?" He asked curiously.

I didn't answer. I knew I never could. My throat could not make a sound, my arms could not move a muscle and my eyes could not even blink. The only thing that was moving was the sweat dripping out my every pore and my rising heartbeat.

His grin widened and his eyes seemed to turn into slits. "I wonder if anyone values your life now," The man mocked. "Not even your brother cares about it."

His last sentence didn't sting me as much as the first. It was no surprise that Byakuya nii-sama didn't care about my existence. He never would. But Ichigo did right? That's why he came to Soul Society. The notion was comforting but I knew he could never survive against the Gotei 13. Ichigo was going to die just like I would. Just like Kaien-dono did… and I would be the cause of it. Renji… did you care about my life? Were you trying to save me just like Ichigo was?

With a graceful stride, the menacing man paced around me, my eyes never leaving his. His smile dimmed a little. "Though that Ryoka cares doesn't he? The one with the orange hair," He pondered. "Perhaps I should impale him with Shinsou?" My eyes widened. Of course I knew he was just joking but I couldn't get the thought out of my mind. Clearly seeing my shock, the man laughed to himself.

"What do you want with me?" I finally said.

"Ara? So Rukia-chan is capable of speaking? He replied, his tone filled with fake surprise. "I wonder. What do I want?"

He was toying with me all too much. But I could do nothing to stop him. His presence made me want to kill myself but I was too scared to even do that in front of him.

Leaning in until I could feel his breath on my ear, the man murmured, "I could offer you an escape." My heart stopped.

"Eh?" I barely whispered.

"Just kidding." The man said. He then left without a word.

I could hear the shattering of my resolve.

Ichimaru Gin broke it just like if it were glass.
