Moving On
He was gone. At first, Yuna couldn't believe it. She didn't really think that
Tidus would not come back. But it was two weeks after the defeat of Sin,
and still no sign of Tidus.
Everyday, she would go to the edge of the dock and whistle for him,
hoping that one day he would somehow ... someway comeback to Spira,
back to her. But every time she whistled she realized more and more that he
was gone for good. But she would never stop whistling.
Today was no different. Yuna stood at the dock and whistled as loud as she
could. But she wasn't alone. On the beach, behind a palm tree, stood Rikku.
Rikku felt so bad for Yuna, she just wished she could help in someway.
"Oh Yunie, I wish I could tell you how I really feel", Rikku whispered to
herself and sighed "but I know how you feel about Tidus. I just wish it could
be me you love".
That Evening...
It was just like every other night since the defeat of Sin. Everybody was
outside by the campfire in the middle of Besaid, dancing and having fun
without fear of Sin. But Rikku was lost in deep thought, keeping distance
from the villagers. Then, she noticed someone on the beach , staring out to
sea. It was Yuna. Rikku decided to go and comfort her, it was terrible to see
someone so sad at a time of rejoicing.
Yuna stared at the night sky melting into the vast blue ocean. She felt tears
trickle down her cheeks. "Yunie?" she heard from behind her. Yuna wiped
her tears away and turned to see a very worried Rikku. Yuna attempted a
smile but she couldn't hold back her tears. "It's ok Yunie, please stop
destroying yourself over him, you know he wouldn't want you to be like
this."
"You right", Yuna said, "but it hurts so much".
Rikku closed the gap between them and embraced Yuna, "It'll be ok Yunie.
You still got your whole life in head of you, you know?"
"Yea, thanks Rikku, you're a great friend." Yuna said.
"I'm gonna go back to the campfire now." Rikku said.
"Ok, I will be there in a few minutes, I just need a little more time", Yuna
replied.
Rikku turned and began to walk back, but what Yuna didn't see were the
tears streaming down Rikku's face.
