The Lullaby of Destruction

Chapter 1: The Landing & Making a choice

As her star ship flew through out the galaxy, She was wondering what her destination would be like. It was said that the earth was protected by powerful fighters, but she wanted to see it anyway. She was the last of the Dire breed Sayians, Or in the common tongue Silver Sayians. They were called that since the fur of their tails varied between five colors. In order of or common to rarest was Black, Gold, Blue, Gray and finally Silver. The dire bloodline that produced pure silvers without fail. The grays and blues had been nearly wiped out by Freeza, He could never persuade the black Sayian King Vegeta to disclose the location of the Dire home planet to him so he destroyed Vegeta's world in retaliation. Here we look upon the last Dire Alpha. A queen on her world, but speeding towards earth she slept peacefully even daring to dream that she might find someone to complete her. A beeping sound registered it was time to wake the sleeping Dire, the tube she floated in began to drain before it cracked open and its naked occupant was dropped onto the tile floor. The mercury silver tail covered her bottom half while her long snowy mane covered the rest.

The body shifted and groaned, she was awake and rapidly approaching earth. She looked up and read the computer monitor nearest her before getting to her feet, rolling her neck and shoulders hearing the pops and snaps of long disuse. After that she began training flipping and dancing her way to earth until the piloting program said she needed to buckle in since the ship was entering the atmosphere. The ship landed in a wide green field, its landing gear gently piercing the planets flesh. The door opened and she stepping into the warm sunlight after nearly two years in the darkness of space, such was the vastness of the distance she had traveled. Her clothing was something that appeared to be a black sports bra and a matching pair of baggy shorts. She wore no shoes her bare clawed paws giving truth to the fact she was a warbreed. The muscled calves and thighs gave her the look of one who spent their time constantly in battle. For she was thick nor thin but powerfully built her curves were backed by muscle.

She raised her head and sniffed deep there was meat nearby and lots of it, she was starving as her feeding tubes had quit feeding her the day before. Then she heard it, a scream she bolted down the ramp on four legs and across the clearing her now tailed mane flowing behind her. She gained ground in beats of her heart, the gravity here was far lighter then home she she was nearly flying over the land as she ran. She saw the woman was still screaming as the monster chased her across the road and into moving metal things. The Sayian lept across the open road and snatched the woman from in front of a oncoming bus that she hadn't seen and landed on the other side holding the woman like one holds a small child.

She landed and turned her tail flowing behind her and snarled at the approaching dinosaur, it turned tail and ran. She set the woman on her feet and waited to hear if they spoke similar languages. "Thank you. You saved me. Who are you? I'm Chi Chi." She smiled as the ears on her head flicked to catch the delicately phrased questions. "I am Astra, a Dire-breed. You are most welcome." Chi Chi smiled. "Please be a guest in my home for dinner as my thanks." Astra nodded. "I would be honored to dine with you. Tell me more of this planet, it is far from my own." As they walked Chi Chi explained more about the earth when Astra proposed questions to learn more about the others home planet. "My planet is one with a bloodstained past." Was all Astra would say on the matter but she seemed very eager to learn about Earth. "I was told that there were powerful fighters here that protect this planet from harm." Chi Chi's eyes narrowed as she asked a question. "What you heard is true, Are you seeking them?" Astra shook her head. "I have no interest in war with your people, I am simply astounded by your planet and all that lives upon it. But, where I come from. The strength of one's self determines your place in society." Chi Chi was shocked. "So how well you fight determines how high in society you rise?" Astra nodded. "Interesting."

They talked about her family and Chi Chi was astounded to see Astra laugh so hard she had tears in her eyes. "Your family astounds me on its ties, how no matter what they fought over, they come to act as one when someone has been injured." Chi Chi told Astra her place was empty for the next three months while her husband and sons were off training for a disaster set to come in three years. As they arrived at her home Astra scented something she never thought she would find on any world. Black Sayian, one pure-blood, a elder half-breed and a toddler. "Are you aware that your Husband is not like you?"Chi Chi smiled and nodded. "We are a family no matter where Goku may have come in to being he's on this planet and our children are well cared for." And with that their friendship was sealed and Astra was offered a place to stay so Chi Chi wasn't so lonely with no one but her toddler. The two found out on the walk back to Chi Chi's that they had a lot in common, from protecting natures to cooking.

For the next three months Astra helped Chi Chi from doing chores to watching Goten play while Chi Chi cooked. Until one day while Astra was watching Goten, a man came to the door and Chi Chi answered. "Hello How may I help you." The man smiled and Astra felt an evil energy rise from the back porch. "You can give me your dragon ball." And he blasted the door in. Astra picked up the toddler and bolted to the forest and hid the little boy in a hole in a tree trunk, growling at him to stay put. Then she headed back to the house on all fours pushing to nearly flight speed. "CHI CHI!" she heard the faint reply from under some rubble. "Astra! I'm here." Astra sliced her way through the rubble and grabbed Chi Chi's hand. Pulling her out of the hole they overlooked the remainder of Chi Chi's home.

"My home..." Chi Chi said as she nearly fell to the floor in sorrow until her mothers instinct kicked in. "Where is my baby?" Astra snorted softly. "Safe." Was all she could say as the man floated into range laughing. "So you survived. Good, I didn't want to have to sully my hands looking through your trash. Give me the dragon ball and you will live." Astra snorted, she herself had told that to many before butchering the entire bloodline. "Like we believe you." Astra said locking her purple-blue eyes to his black ones. "Pity I had hoped you'd die in blissful ignorance." Astra tugged Chi Chi behind her and growled darkly. "Lets play then." She silently unwound her tail from her waist and let it hang. The ears on her head flattened and she bared her fangs. He went to dive bomb them and Astra lept and met him half way claws unsheathed. Chi Chi watched them battle in the air as Astra and the man collided and separated again and again kicking and punching. Until he pinned Astra against the ground her body writhing beneath his. "My pretty your not human either are you?" He crooned and Astra snarled before speaking. "Chi Chi cover your eyes." Chi Chi did as she was asked and closed her eyes, turning away from Astra when she heard a sickening crunch.

Then she felt a hand on her shoulder, she nearly screamed when she heard the soft voice. "Its alright its just me." Astra spoke as she lowered her hand to her side, tail coiling around her waist under her shirt. "You have a tail?" Chi Chi asked. "Yes all Sayians do." Chi Chi started turning to Astra. "Your a Sayian?" Astra grinned. "A Dire-breed Sayian but a Sayian none the less." Astra turned her head before taking off in a flash of black light. She reappeared with Goten in her arms and slight blood on her claws. "Damn scavengers." She handed the baby to his mother and watched as he was rocked and snuggled. "We need to leave, we have no idea if he had allies or someone following him." Chi Chi nodded and she started digging in her pockets and came out with two capsules. "I have my bike if you don't mind riding behind me." Astra smirked and started to float off the ground with the baby in her arms. "I will fly beside you, This planets gravity is a lot lower then my native world's." The black light returned and they were off, Chi Chi's air bike speeding along and Astra flying beside her the baby squealing in joy as her tail held him to her back.

They flew for nearly four hours before Chi Chi pulled a com phone from her pocket and dialed a set of numbers. The face that answered was exactly who she was hoping to reach. "Bulma its Chi Chi, I need to speak with you its important." The com phone's background changed and Bulma answered her phone. "Chi Chi whats wrong?" As Chi Chi explained Astra did loops and swirls, causing the baby to smile and squeal. When Astra pulled a back-flip with a barrel roll Chi Chi gasped.

"Chi Chi are you alright?" Bulma asked hearing the gasp and seeing her friends face go slack as she watched something off screen. "I'm fine Bulma but I'm going to need a place to stay for a little while til the house is rebuilt." Bulma snorted before speaking. "Chi Chi you are welcome here at anytime you know that. What is on your mind?" Chi Chi sighed and said it straight out. "I'm not alone I have someone with me. She saved me and Goten." Bulma released a breath and smiled at the phone. "She is welcome also Chi Chi" She signaled to Astra and they took off once again. They flew for another few hours until they saw city pass below them, Astra went higher and hid in the clouds so that the humans below didn't see her and cause a panic.

Chi Chi landed outside capsule corps with a smile on her face, her newest friend was waiting up in the cloud cover with her baby. Though her home was destroyed her family was safe that that's what made Chi Chi smile. Bulma was waiting for her at the edge of the back porch with a mess of plans in her arms. "CHI CHI" She waived and they met in a soft hug careful not to wake the sleeping toddler. "Bulma, I think the androids are after the dragon-balls. Some one came to the door asking about them. If not for my friend I wouldn't be here." Bulma looked around before locking her eyes on Chi Chi. "Where is your friend?" Chi Chi tipped her head back and yelled a name. "Astra!"

And with a black flash of light there was a a new person on the pad holding little Goten. Her knee length white hair was pulled into a high tail and her purple-blue eyes locked onto Bulma's own. "Bulma this is Astra a Dire-breed, she's only been on this planet three months. She's a type of Sayian, one Freeza could never find." They shook paws and Astra noticed the little one toddling towards them. "This is Trunks my son." "I am glad to meet you and your son. This planet continues to fascinate me. My kind are called the Dire-breed of Sayians or Silver Sayians. Since our tails are silver as are our second forms fur."

Bulma couldn't help but be curious about the entirely new type of sayian. They made a few trips to move Astra's ship to Capsule corp. And together the two of them began constructing a brand new ship, complete with deep sleep tanks, training rooms and a gravity room. Bulma also noticed her son was drawn to following the female, who doted on him greatly. She didn't have a great deal of time for him and he had begun to grow a tail recently but the silver seemed over joyed to teach Trunks gentle techniques for now. Mostly kata and focusing his energy, Chi Chi seemed so much more relaxed watching Goten on the lawn learning on the ground how to fly. It was a very mom approved lesson. The boys watched the older sayian float around them, a steady gentle press of her ki around them. Both tried, and slowly began to rise.

Soon, they were zipping back and forth trying to launch each other into the pool. Trunks lost concentration and fell right before he would have hit the ground, a soft warmth was curled around his waist. He opened his eyes to see the older sayian's tail. His eyes widened and she pulled him up and they soared so much faster he howled in delight his little blue tail twining around hers in return. When they landed Trunks was asleep more then content to sleep right where he was. As the three women sat around the table Bulma noticed the softly snoring toddler. "That never works for me. It takes me forever to get him to go to sleep, when I move at all he wakes up."

Astra chuckled. "Sayian females use their tails a lot in rearing their young. Its essential, its also part of our courtship and mating practices." Bulma's eyes widened and Chi Chi rubbed her backside where it would be. Chi Chi wondered if part of the reason Goku didn't stay very long was that she didn't appear as the same species to him. "Do males stray from their mate?" Astra looked rather appalled by the question. "No, once the bond is in place. Mated pairs are far deadlier on the battlefield. Because they will hold nothing back from protecting the lives of one another and any pups." Chi Chi looked up at her new friend. "Do you think its possible for me to become a half sayian?" Astra thought about it. "Are you willing to spend your life protecting your mate and little ones? To have me teach you to control your instincts? It will not be easy."

"We have the technology to genetically modify her. But what kind of sayian to become?" Astra rocked Trunks in her tail. "Either a black or a gray. She would do well as either. But I believe a gray would be more suiting." Bulma pouted. "I don't have any genetic material for that." Astra smiled. "I do." Chi Chi looked excited. "So how will this work?" Bulma looked at Astra. "It would be best if she slept through the changes on my ship. The deep sleep tanks we have down here are untested, and I am not willing to risk her life." Bulma nodded. "It would make what is to come in three years much easier to bear knowing there will be two more fighters against them. Chi Chi was raring to go, she was tired of being on the side lines, She was the princess of fire mountain.

They set to preparing the sample and Chi chi was given a simple sports bra, underwear and shorts to wear into the pod. Since they came with Astra they were made with tails in mind. So, the pair quickly settled her into the pod and got a mask on her face. "Now you will sleep through the change, we have a small IV in, so that we can introduce genetic material. Another for saline enhanced with minerals I didn't know Sayians needed. The pads we are sticking on your body will monitor your vital signs. And the progression of the change I will monitor through a separate device dermabonded to your skin for this procedure." Chi Chi nodded. And once they were finished the tank glass closed and it began to fill with a blueish-green liquid. Chi Chi closed her eyes and focused on the mental pictures of her husband and sons. She felt a warmth, and then she drifted off her last thought was. Goku, wait for me. When she next opened her eyes she realized her vision was sharper, and she was laying on the floor dry but she could sense someone else.

"Who's here?" A throaty chuckle and Chi Chi felt something on her head turn to catch the sound. "Your showing good awareness of your surroundings. This is very good." Chi Chi slowly began flexing her hands and feet, she realized her hair was unbound and around her in a halo. "How'd it go?" A snicker but Chi Chi could sense the underlying annoyance. "Blue nearly killed you." Chi Chi lifted her head. "How?" When the other woman moved into her line of sight she was slightly in awe, the seemingly snow white mane now possessed silver strange sprinkled throughout it and her eyes glowed subtly. "The mixture she was giving you was to diluted, your heart would have given out before the transformation was complete." Chi Chi blinked. "Where is..?" Astra pointed to a cot and Chi Chi could see both boys curled up together asleep. "You still have Trunks?" She asked confused. "The cub refused her since he has grown his tail. Goten has recently finished growing his. I had to modify his pants I believe you called them."

Chi Chi felt something in her rise in distaste at her friend, but pleased that Goten had a tail. "Master Roshi said something about the tail was bad?" A growl. "One's tail is a part of who you are, to be a Sayian and e tail-less is like humans treat second class people." Chi Chi flinched feeling what she believed was her tail raise off her legs. "That human may have faced your husbands transformed state. Blackmanes don't learn to control themselves until later in life. And you told me your husband came here as a cub." Chi Chi huffed. "So, how did you manage to fix Bulma's accident?" She felt the embarrassment. "It required forcefully speed up the sample injection and you needed some blood." Chi Chi met eyes and it zinged through her the feeling of Family. "You gave me some of your blood." Astra smiled, revealing her fangs. "I did kin sister. I never got the chance to have anyone to play with as a cub. Now I will get the responsibility of being the elder sibling and teaching you how to manage being a royal breed."

Soon Chi Chi was up and walking around, realizing she hadn't gotten the paws her new older sister had. She could feel it inside, the bond of kin-ship between them. She looked in a mirror only to be astounded. She had thigh length charcoal gray hair with true black and brilliant silver strands sprinkled throughout it. Making it have highlights and dark tones. On her head she had these pretty triangular ears, but they weren't as large as Astra's if she had to resemble them to some thing on earth she'd say cat's ears. Covered with the same pretty fur she figured. Her tail had a fine fur with a medium length fur. It was at least as long as her body and as she stripped down she noticed the scars she had from childhood were all gone leaving only lightly tanned skin behind. She had been allowed to sniff through Astra's bath stuff to find something that she liked because all her stuff suddenly smelled over powering. Astra laughed saying. "Perfectly normal, your bitches instincts are rearing up telling you those blind your ability to protect your cub." She enjoyed her shower, scrubbing her hair and tail twice to make sure they were clean.

When she got out she found new clothing on the bed, her body had changed too, her chest growing slightly, hips widening but her belly had flattened which she was happy for. She put on the clothes after drying off and headed out to find Astra sitting in the common room with some brushes, a bottle, a bunch of what looked like hair ties and a well rounded bag. "Hair brush, tail brush. Ties for your mane and some conditioner that will make your fur shiny." She said as she pointed to each object in turn. She helped her comb her hair out and put it up trying to adjust to her new ears was kinda fun. Plus she had noticed she had sharp nails on both her hands and feet. "It seems your claws are well formed. You have adapted well to this form." Chi Chi pointed to the bag which hadn't yet been opened. "Brush your tail and I will show you." Astra opened the bag to show it was filled with tiny pure gold bars. "I have many of these sacks. But I figured a small one will do for now." Chi Chi wondered. "Do what?" "Rebuild your home."

Chi Chi felt the gratitude well up within her and only meeting eyes she knew the sayian understood. "We will allow Blue to continue building the new ship but I do not believe it will be a wise idea for us to stay here Chi." The shortening of her name made her smile. "I think your right Astra. Bulma has always been an inventor. She's really good at it. I will talk to her while you pack." A purr like rumble that made her feel accepted and Chi Chi left the room and headed for the labs where Bulma was sure to be found so long as she was awake. Chi Chi found Bulma tinkering on the deep sleep tanks and cleared her throat. The woman jumped slightly until she noticed who it was. "Chi Chi?" She nodded. "Oh wow, you look amazing! I'm sorry I miscalculated." She was going to respond when she sensed Bulma's heart wasn't really in the apology. That stung somewhat but for sometime since she had Trunks, Chi Chi had known Bulma hadn't ever really let go of her love for Yamcha.

"Astra and I are going to leave. And get my house rebuilt." She saw Bulma make a face, her new senses picked up a sense of freedom and triumph. "You know that Trunks won't come back to me. He howls and cries if I shut him away from her." Chi Chi felt bad for the surge of vengeful glee. "Does that mean your going to give him to her?" Bulma made a noise of anger, but Chi Chi knew better she was pleased. "I guess I'll have to. I never expected him to grow a tail. But low and behold he has one. I saw her bathing them yesterday while you were finishing the change. They didn't splash or make a mess when she bathed them.

After wards they were allowed to play on a blanket while she watched, she kept them on there with only her tail and a few noises. Noises Chi Chi, how caveman like.." Chi Chi realized Bulma didn't understand what she saw in her sayian husband. "Why did you sleep with Vegeta if you have such strong feelings against Sayians?" Bulma turned and looked at her now holding a semi thick folder. "You know that old proverb about wanting to try and tame the wildness out of a man? Once he left I realized he would never stop fighting. And when I realized I was pregnant I tried to ignore Vegeta's blood in Trunks. But, seeing him interact with a sayian female and watching him grow a tail. Its just to much, and I am not the person to raise him into the man he needs to be." Chi Chi gave Bulma a hug softly so as not to hurt her. "I will be there to send you pictures if you like." Bulma nodded.

"You I always pictured as a sayian Chi Chi, your so strong." Chi Chi withheld a huff of agreement from her inner self. "I've made all the document arrangements. On paper your friend is his legal guardian and maternal parent. I will keep working on the ship and the tanks. But, will you need anything from me?" Chi Chi shook her head. "No. Astra and I are going to move her ship to near where my house was and supervise its rebuilding. Do you have anything that would project the image of my human form that I can wear?" Bulma blinked then smiled, a new project always made her happy. "Yeah its just a hologram pendant. We make them for diplomats. Here. I'll get you one and adjust it to you. Do you think she needs one?" Chi Chi thought about it. "Probably a good idea for emergencies." Within an hour Chi Chi left the office with the pendants and folder in her hand along with a satchel of capsules. The Son family would not go hungry for a long time.

When she returned to the room she had been in she found Astra carrying Trunks at the small of her back with her tail wrapped around his waist, the rest held high flicking back and forth as she packed his clothing and belongings away. "She signed him over." Confused purple-blue eyes met her own deep gray-black eyes. "He is your cub now." A pleased thrum. "My cub." The amount of emotion in those two words was enough to convince Chi Chi Astra was never going to let go of Trunks. "Your cub was looking for you." Chi Chi felt a sudden urgent need to see Goten and she didn't fight it, she found her youngest looking up at her from the little cot and she cuddled him. She felt the purring rumble in her chest, He wiggled his way around until he was sitting at the base of her back and she felt the instinctual pull to wrap her tail around him. She she felt how the muscles wrapped him and securely he grasped the back of her shirt.

"You have a knack for this that I have never even heard of." Chi Chi chuckled. "Bulma said she had always pictured me as a sayian. I feel more myself like this, suddenly I don't feel the compulsion to nag at my husband for fighting or push my study so hard. But I still want him to do well." Together the pair finished stripping the room of Trunks' belongings and encapsulating the large furniture and all the other things Bulma had wanted them to take. They made out to the dire's ship and lifted off, flying along Chi Chi's charted path back to where her home had lain. Now they landed the ship, the four debarking looking at the rubble they had left behind not so long ago. "Its so hard to believe this happened a few weeks ago." Astra snorted. "Let's set those capsule things up and then we can start seeing what we can salvage." And the work began.

~A year later.~

It had taken a year of work and training while the house had been rebuilt, expanded even. The now three year old sayian boys having separate rooms on the second floor. Gohan had his own room on that same floor. The master bedroom was located on the third floor with a balcony. The two females grew spices and raised cattle and pigs. They paid a few people to tend the livestock and harvest the spices. Chi Chi was glad she had introduced Astra to spices. She hadn't expected to have the ability to improve the yield of plants or make them bigger than normal. Astra had told her gray sayians were excellent healers and herbalists. They also were fierce mothers and protectors of cubs. Bulma had only called a couple of times mostly to say the ship had been completed and so had the upgraded deep sleep tanks. The year had been training for her too. Learning how to find her ki, focus it and harness it into a weapon had required them going to the new underground training area Bulma had put in. It hid their power signatures as they worked with them up to a certain level. The boys were now flying and using minor attacks. Astra was teaching them the sayian language so they wouldn't lose that part of their heritage. And she felt she understood her husband's wayward best friend so much better now. Astra hadn't laughed when she had dived head first into Goku's clothes. "Its the smell of your one male, the male who sired your cubs. Who has been away a long time. Of course your going to horde his scent." She had preformed some kind of spell that moved only Goku's scent to a pillow and trapped it there so all the clothes could be washed.
