Now or Never
The child whimpered and turned away. Alex tried to reach forward to comfort it, but every time his hands got near an electric current ran through him forcing him to pull his hands away. This is hopeless, he thinks, I should just go get help. But he couldn't force himself to leave. This child needed him.
Then the child turned around, eyes black as the midnight air around them. It bared its teeth, or rather fangs, and pounced on Alex. Alex tried to break free, but instead his head hit hard against a wall. He could feel blood flowing freely from his fresh wound, warm and sticky. Things were hard to make out and he could feel himself loosing conscious. Right before the world went all black he saw the child turned away again, whimpering.
