The music throbbed, filling the beach club with a sensuous melody. College students, tourists and locals writhed on the dance floor and leaned against the bar, cramming the room to capacity. The ever-present sea breeze brought the scent of the ocean in through the open doors and filled the club, keeping the heat from being oppressive.
Vin watched Brianna from across the club as she danced. He sipped his whiskey and squashed down the surge of desire. She was with Cougar and he would never poach from anyone, let alone his friend. He glanced around the club, but his eyes kept returning to her flame red hair and curvy, slender body. She was mesmerizing as she moved with the music, turning a simple dance into something closer to seduction.
Cougar caught the rapidly covered flash of interest Vin showed in Bri. He sidled up to his friend and dropped an arm over his shoulder. "Battle buddies."
Vin turned his head to look at Cougar and lifted an eyebrow quizzically. "Yeah, so?"
Cougar's brown eyes glittered. "Hermano, we mess together, bunk together, fight together," he paused and glanced over at Brianna with a wicked grin, "Play together."
Vin eyes widened, wondering if he understood him correctly. He grinned when Cougar wiggled his eyebrows in a suggestive leer. "Huh." He glanced over, "You think she would go for it?"
Cougar chuckled. "I wouldn't have offered before speaking to the lady first. She is … intrigued. Our friend, it turns out," he explained. "is quite adventurous."
Brianna glanced over at the two soldiers studying her with an appraising eye. She flashed them a brilliant smile and cocked her head, hiding one eye behind the brim of her cowboy hat. They watched appreciatively as she sauntered toward them, her hips gently swaying under her tight jeans. "Come on you two. I wanna go get something to… eat." She winked at Vin and chuckled seductively at his light blush.
Cougar tossed back his shot of tequila and wrapped an arm around her waist. "Vamos."
Vin quickly finished his whiskey and followed them with a grin of anticipation
