Love part 3 Love Me Not.... Part 3
A/N: Ok, here's the next part. This chapter has absolutely nothing to do with the last two chapters, but trust me, it's important to the rest of the story. This one is a bit shorter than normal, because I wanted to leave it on a cliffie. Hope ya like the story!
Disclaimer: All of the characters except for Katrina belong to J. K. Rowling, and the plot is mine.

Told By Hermione Granger

Why did everyone have to start worrying about who liked who right now? We had only just come back from the summer holidays, and plus we were in fifth year so the work was way harder. I wished I hadn't told Harry about it at all. As I walked along the corridor towards Transfiguration, I bumped into Malfoy, whose normally pale skin turned bright red and he hurried off in the opposite direction. Everybody had been acting so weird lately, I was beginning to wonder if somebody had been casting love. I dismissed this idea quickly and went into Professor Mc Gonagall's classroom. Everybody else was already in there and I made my way quickly to my seat so that Professor Mc Gonagall could start the lesson.
"Settle down now, class," she said in a brisk voice. "Now, before we begin I have an announcement to make. There will be a new student coming in fifth year this evening. Her name is Katrina Murphy and she has come from Ireland. She did not come to Hogwarts at the beginning of the term because she was taken ill, however she is better now. She will be sorted at dinner this evening, and whatever house she is sorted into I hope you will all make her welcome. Now, let us get on with the lesson!" Professor Mc Gonagall busied herself handing out sheets of parchment while we all speculated as to what the new student was going to be like.

"So, what do you think the new girl's gonna be like?" I asked Ron as I put a baked potato on my plate.
"Dunno," he mumbled as he stuffed some french fries in his mouth. "Though if she's nice I hope she gets into Gryffindor." The hall fell silent as Professor Mc Gonagall came through the doors, followed by a stunningly pretty girl of about fifteen. Her chestnut coloured hair tumbled past her shoulders, except for the front parts which were cut into layers. A pair of bright blue eyes were set into a small heart shaped face. I couldn't take my eyes off her, she was so.... perfect. Yet there was something completely natural about her, as though she didn't spend hours in front of the mirror primping and preening. As I glanced around the hall, I could see that every other guys reaction was pretty much the same as mine. God, I really hoped she got into Gryffindor.
"If this is what all Irish girls look like, then I definitely know where I'm going for my summer holidays!" I muttered to Ron.
"Yeah, whatever," he said without taking his eyes off her. She walked up onto the platform. Her rosebud shaped mouth smiled, and her eyes twinkled. She didn't look in the least bit apprehensive.
"Students, I would like you to welcome Katrina Murphy. She has come late in the term due to illness, and she will be sorted now," said Dumbledore from beside the platform. It was only then that I noticed that the sorting hat had been placed on a stool in the middle of the stage. Katrina picked up the hat, placed it on her head and sat down on the stool. I noticed that many of the guys looked as though they were uttering a silent prayer. There was an air of expectancy as everyone waited to see what the hat's decision would be....
