The first time he see's her, he's married and it's on the rocks. There's the affair and now, a baby on the way. His blond partner in crime is beautiful and there's definite chemistry there. He could make it happen, if he wanted to. It would mean another affair though and he doesn't think his marriage can really handle that. She's pretty enough and god knows he'd really like to go there. Matt won't though, because he's an honorable man. A little too, honorable.
The first time he see's him; the voices are in his head before he can even shake them loose from his thoughts. He's a beautiful man, tanned skin, dark alluring eyes and even darker thick hair. He's absolutely beautiful, in every sense of the word. He's brilliant, highly intelligent and Matt feels almost simple in his presence. There's a little girl and she's terrified, but Matt's determined to protect her and the rest of them to the best of his ability. They'll make it out of there alive, even if it kills him. Not a scratch or mark, will brand any of them. Last thing he see's is Molly's face and the tall dark, handsome man standing behind her towering over the two of them.
The next time they're together, Matt is divorced and he's not talking about the baby. He's too busy picking Molly up from school, discussing the extent of her nightmares with her teacher on the playground of the school she attends and waiting for Mohinder to come home or at least call and let him know the latest update in their little crusade against the Company. He doesn't cook like Mohinder does, but that doesn't mean he isn't trying his hardest. Matt's never done this before, but he still tries. He marvels at how well their little family unit, has been able to come together. Still, he knows that it's not going to be this way for long or this easy. It's never going to be easy, when there's people out there who want to cut them open, probe around in their minds and eventually see them dead and used up.
Four and half months later, and Matt never thought that his greatest pleasure would be seeing the smile on Molly's face when she finds out Mohinder is home for a little while. It makes it hard, but it makes it better. He wants to be able to tell him, that he's happy to see him. He really is, because it means that Molly's happy and he loves the smile on that little girl's face. She absolutely lights up from the inside out and it warms his heart. He wants to hand her his heart to put in her pocket, because it already belongs to her. She's not his little girl, but she is in a way. She's both of theirs and he can't deny that seeing the smile on Mohinder's face, as Molly bounds into his arms is the best sight in the world and for the first time, he clearly see's Mohinder in a much different light.
Matt Parkman finally feels like he's home.
