Demigem Legends: The Kill Code

Summary:

AU. What if Gems have been playing as mythical Gods for the last five thousand years? What would become of Steven, who's now not the first demigem, and instead, is enlisted to saving the world after living on the streets with his father? As the last son of Rose Quartz, to destroy the Cluster, he'll need to find the fabled Kill Code. (Inspired by PJO)

Prologue

Rose Quartz.

You've reset the Universe just to see what would happen if you did this.

Do you really want to know what happens when you play god?

Alright. You didn't get this far for nothing.

Here's

your

prize.

Rose Quartz woke from her slumber, breathing hard. She felt like something was strangling her, so much so that she almost forgot she didn't need air. Nevertheless, her sorta panic attack went away, and she looked around at the world around her.

Clear blue skies. Averagely warm temperature. Crispy green grass.

She was lying on the plains of the Earth, with a deer sniffing her big body. The deer was alarmed by her wake and simply ran away. Rose sat up, stabilizing herself and recognizing the view she was looking at.

It was a beautiful view of a valley, with green stretching from mile to mile, and the cloudless skies looking as beautiful as the heavens.

Paradise.

But what she saw was a charred land of dead. Fires rose from the ground, lava filled the mountains, the sky was blood red. Craters and corpses littered the place. A stark contrast of what she was looking at in the present.

Hell.

Her simple, delicate eyes narrowed coldly. The warm and sincere vibe she had been radiating was now replaced with death and ruthlessness.

The grass under her feet wilted and turned into an ugly shade of green.

She took in the smell of nature, and let out a breath of ash.

"Let's do this."

A/N: This thing came round when I was reading Rick Riordan's books (ya know, Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Kane Chronicles, Magnus Chase, blah blah blah) and thought that the Gems and the gods have similar abilities.

Then, with some thinking and that joke plot I told everyone about in Chapter 27: Rogue Time of Steven Lazuli.

I don't know what to make of it.

I'm kidding.

Basically, after five thousand years on Earth, the Gems have ruled like gods. And this is because Rose Quartz had seen what had happened when she didn't prepare for Homeworld in the original, unreset, Universe. Yeah, it was a place of hell. Rose found a way to reset the Universe for the lives of a single planet, and she used this opportunity to prepare for the inevitable war.

Now, this story is going to be centered around Steven. After this chapter (prologue), it will be told in his POV. And then the story will end in (and please) around twenty to thirty short chapters.
