When he fell through the veil,
His life flashed before his eyes, he was so pale.
I'll always remember his face,
So passionate about what he believed, always on my case.
I couldn't believe it, I didn't want to,
He was all that mattered, now what am I meant to do?
He was my godfather, more like a brother,
He was my rock, my shield, my protective cover.
Why did he have to die?
I didn't get to say goodbye.
He was my last link,
This grief does not sink.
Years of sadness in his brother's wake,
Always in his shadow.
His childhood was rotten,
It's best forgotten.
Hogwarts must have been his best days,
To be able to joke and prank in many ways.
To leave reality behind,
To be with his best friend, with no burdens on his mind.
Condemned of what he did not was this man,
How could they have thrown him into Azkaban?
They wanted to let him rot,
But this fate would be his not.
He hid away for so long,
He was so brave, for both of us he was so strong.
He was all that mattered,
Now mine and his dreams are shattered.
He was betrayed by his friend, Wormtail the rat,
It's his fault Sirius is where he is now at.
What happiness and joy he bought me!
He had some hope, so why did this have to be?
How unfair fate is upon Sirius and I,
So I ask again why did this have to happen, why?
