Bloodlines
The photo was a lure to a forgotten time.
Mojo often looked at it, his logical mind swept over with the promise of adventure.
The fact that he could go just about anywhere with his large collection of robots made little difference.
No, this picture of his father in his impeccably tailored sailor suit drew the admiration of not only the chimp's heart, but a core hunger for unbiased chaos. Speaking of long forgotten adventures against bloodthirsty pirates on tropic shores, now long since paved over to make way for resorts and pawnshops.
It made little difference that on its back happened to be half a paragraph of what looks suspiciously like a 1994 article from National Geographic on the mating habits of the red-billed hornbill.
"Slugbug!" Buttercup yelled, a sudden sharp punch to Mojo's hairy arm sending the photo tumbling to the car floor mats in a sharp clatter of metal on plastic.
"Nooo!" Mojo screamed an melodramatic howl, diving after his treasure..or trying. The sea of seat belts around his midsection and cutting into his neck quickly reminded the miniature villain of his current predicament:
That was, securely fastened to a monkey sized booster seat, nestled between his once arc-enemies, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, sailing down the freeway at 60 miles an hour in the Utonium family car.
"Girls, Jojo, everything alright back there?" A startled voice asked.
"Yes Professor!" Four lite and small sounding voices replied on que.
"Buttercup that was mean! You always slugbug too hard." Bubbles said, looking up with a glare from where she was feeding Octi pretend cake with glitter frosting.
"Whatever, he hasn't even been playing right. Just staring at that picture and mumbling something about 'O' Captain', it's creepy." Buttercup sighed and returned to looking out the window. "I don't even know why Professor wants to take him with us to be in the family photo anyway..He's just a dirty monkey."
"Because it's the right thing to do." Blossom said. Her sizable logic puzzle book made a small thump as she put it down, scooting out of her seat belt and back again with the retrieved photograph in tow. "..And he is family after all."
Mojo Jojo, the villain most famously known for having so much to say, barely nodded as the framed sailor chimp was slipped back into his green hands.
