Title: A longer course more bright and brave.
Rating: G
Warning: Alludes to event from EoT pt 2.
Disclaimer: The following poetic works do not belong to me: Do not go gentle into that good night by Dylan Thomas, Lucifer in Starlight by George Meredith, London by William Blake and The Waterfall by Henry Vaughan. Likewise, I do not own Doctor Who.
A/N: title from The Waterfall. Not my usual type of fic, so I'm nervous about it.
Summary: There was the light and the anger. The Master after EoT.
One.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
There was the light and the anger, more anger than ever before scouring deep and tossing him into the maws, the wide gapping jaws of the light.
The crescendo came and left with the fury and the light. Then-
Solitude.
Two.
He reached a middle heaven, and at the stars,
Which are the brain of heaven, he looked, and sank,
He arose and explored his new world with raindrops footsteps- light, tinkling steps.
The steps of a dancer, complex and beautiful.
He was always a dancer, but no longer tripping along, out of tune, graceless and pained by the dance of others.
Now-
The universe danced to his beat.
Three.
I wandered thro' each charter'd street
He exists in the in-between of worlds. He amuses himself with the thought that he is the keeper of an aquarium. The light refracts around him, as he is free to stroll leisurely between his overseen worlds.
Causing ripples as he goes.
Four.
With what deep murmurs through time's silent stealth.
He is beyond them now, beyond every and each. Worlds and forever crumbles from his kiss. One breath and they come screaming into the light again.
In his magpie brain, he covets and caresses.
He sees all, and amuses himself so. They shall meet again-his light twin and he- for he is chaos and freedom and power. He is glorious and will not be without.
