AN- Max eating a late dinner at Logan's. Logan can walk. Lydecker still works for Manticore and is still trying to capture her.
Logan's POV
It has been two months since Max found a cure for me. One month since I got my money (riches) back. 4 months one week and two days since Max escaped. Some things have changed but most everything is back to normal now.
I remember the night it happened. Take down Manticore with only four x- 5's, me and that double crossing bastard Lydecker. Ha, think no one would get hurt? What were we thinking? We should have known about the x-7's. They had no chance and to make things worse Deck' double crossed us.
I still remember it as if it were yesterday. Max lying there dying on the dirt of the forest floor with a bullet in her. I told her it would be okay. She was losing the fight and."Logan I'm sorry.I should have said something sooner." Tears run freely as it all comes back. She smiles at peace finally as the pain slips away along with her life, in the arms of the man she loves. Her body grows cold, blood trickles down her nose, her eyes roll back, and then she's gone. No! No! Max! She can't be dead! I could have saved her but Lydecker came up behind me and gave me the butt of his gun to the face and I was out cold.
Ring! Startled out of my thoughts I reach for my phone. "Hey, it's Max I'm going to be a little late." "K, be careful." End phone conversation Max is coming to dinner tonight as she does every night. Sometimes she stays the night.I can still remember Original Cindy's face when we told her we were like that. Smiling to myself, I hear the timer go off for the pasta. Yes, tonight is going to be great.
This is great Logan. Thanks.so how was work? Ok, normal and his usually annoying bip, bip, bip's got to me a little more than usually today, but I scored $100 in a bike contest at Crash. (Logan smiles) Aren't you not supposed to use your special abilities against us mere mortals? Not at all, Max replyed smiling back. But that smile didn't last long as pain overtook her and she began to seize. Max! I call after her as she runs to my bathroom.
