Lee Scoresby's Last Stand.

From the Subtle Knife by Philp Pullman.

He sought a place to hide,

Danger approached fast,

Hester sat bravely at his side,

They found a boulder to hide behind at last.

--

The fight was violent and long,

Lee had shot many men down,

Hester warned when evil men came along,

This would be a battle renowned.

--

Soon Lee also received wounds,

He continued to fight the men.

Hester came closer sensing doom,

Lee had never felt her wet tears until then.

--

The fight had finished,

Together Lee Scoresby and Hester diminished.

----

"Hester, don't you go before I do."

"Lee, I couldn't abide to be anywhere away from you for a singe second."

A few of the last words said by Lee and Hester.

okay, please let me know what you think of this. The battle with Lee and Hester was my most favorite part in the subtle knife, it made me want to cry. I loved those two character so much, even though not much was revealed about them until later in the story. Well, give me reviews! Nethwen
