First time writing for Lost Girl. Just a little thing that I was half expecting to happen at the end of the last episode (4x03) instead of what did. Hope you like it!
Lauren had only been walking for a couple of miles, but she was already sick of it. This had not been her most well thought out plan. She had panicked, which was not a Dr. Lewis thing to do. She was overwhelmed: someone knew about Karen and after that thing with Crystal last night… She didn't know what to think. The best option had been to flee. She probably should have put more thought into the fleeing though.
Lauren finally heard a car rumbling up behind her. She stuck out her thumb, taking the classic hitchhiker's pose. She half hoped it would be Crystal ignoring her wishes, but as she looked up she found that wasn't true. The car looked to have two people in it, a man and a woman. They were obviously happy or in love or something, because the woman was resting her head on the man's shoulder in a very affectionate way. Lauren groaned to herself, now praying that they wouldn't stop. She did not need her face rubbed in other people's happiness right now. She wanted everyone else to be as miserable and confused as she was. But no such luck as the woman pointed to her and the car came to a stop right in front of her. Lauren yanked open the back door and slid into the seat covering her unhappy face with her red hair.
"Where are you headed?" The man asked as he pulled back onto the road. His voice was gruff and vaguely familiar. She recognized the annoyance in his tone and Lauren knew it wasn't his idea to pick her up. He had been hoping for some alone time with his girl and now she came along and ruined it.
"Anywhere but here," she replied. As she lifted her face to get a better look at her new companions, Lauren caught the man's eye in the rearview mirror.
"Dyson?"
"Lauren?" He asked, whipping his head around.
"LAUREN!" The woman in the passenger seat tried to fling herself into the back only to get caught by the seatbelt.
"Bo…" Lauren breathed out. She couldn't believe it. Once the succubus defeated the seatbelt and unhooked herself, she tried to climb into the back. Lauren was transfixed. It was like all of her dreams were coming true. Bo was wearing a low cut white dress that showed off all of her assets just wonderfully. All Lauren could do was stare at the succubus on the prowl as she gracefully climbed over the seats.
"Hey!" Lauren was slightly disappointed as her breathtaking view was taken away when Bo pulled her into a hug. Then she decided that she liked this better because all of Bo was pressed up against her and she was being held as tightly as possible.
"Where are you going? Why were you out here? What happened to your hair? What have you been up to? Why were you walking? What's going on?"
"Bo, slow down," Lauren said after gently pulling away from Bo's all encompassing hold. "I don't want to talk about it now. Instead, just let me bask in the moment. You're here and you're alive. You have no idea how happy this makes me." Now that she had Bo back, she wasn't letting go. She and Bo remained snuggled up in the back seat. Lauren looked up and caught Dyson's eye in the mirror again. He had been watching them with an unreadable expression on his face.
"Good to have you back Lauren," he sighed with a small smile and focused back on the road.
The car descended into an awkward silence for about ten minutes. Finally, Bo could help herself no longer.
"Seriously, though, Lo, what's with the hair?"
"It's a wig Bo."
"Oh, Thank God!"
