Hide & Seek
by: Tany L. Moony
I'm not too proud of this one; it was a bit random and there's really no plot. I got bored. Maybe one day I'll give it a reasonable ending.

"What are you?" The voice was soft, with eyes to match. Those eyes fell upon the dark-haired male who stood a few feet in front of him.

"Human." Was the imminent answer.

"Hardly," Came a snickering cough; another boy laughed.

"No, no, are you it?" Asked the soft voice, obviously ignoring any sort of joking that was now going on between the bespeckled boy and shorter blond one.

"No."

"Then who is?" Piped up the blonde male, wringing his hands together expectantly, "I most certainly am not."

"Prongs." The voice was gruff, a slight bark to it; the boy who'd claimed himself to be 'human'.

"Am not." The bespeckled boy narrowed hazel eyes upon the dark-haired boy.

"Are too." Was the childish reply.

"I'll just be it, you dolts." Once again, the soft voice came, as a tawny haired youth stepped into the circle the four had made. He shot a look at the two dark-haired boys and covered his eyes without hesitation. "One…"

"GO!" Both dark-haired boys cried out, dashing off in opposite directions. The blond stood, eyes wide and fearful, before scurrying off towards the forest with a frightful squeak.

"Two…" Fingers parted, revealing those soft, tawny eyes.

"No peeking, Moony!"

"I'm not! Three!"

Bushes rustled, soft laughter danced about, echoing through the area in which the boys played. Thirteen years old and still running around in child-like games such as hide-&-seek. Honestly, the Marauders weren't much for growing up. At least not yet.

"Four!" His voice grew slightly louder, "Padfoot, you cannot hide behind me!" The gruff, bark-like voice laughed out, and the pitter-pat of shoes to earth were heard and slowly grew faint.

"Prongs, yer on my foot." Squealed the blonde male, dragging his seated self away from where 'Prongs' stood.

A laugh, and then, "Well, if your foot wasn't so big—"

"PRONGS!" Moony cried out, in the midst of 'five'.

"Sorry." And James laughed, reminding himself his duty was to hide and not scream out to reveal said hiding place.

"Si-ix." The singsong word echoed through the small area. More rustling of leaves could be heard, what seemed like a cough, and then silence filtered out. Surprised at the sudden silence, Moony parted his fingers once more to peer out through them to find nothing. Not that he really expected to, they were hiding, after all.

But still…

Huffing indignantly to himself, he set off at a quickened pace towards the nearest collection of bushes and trees. Mostly due to the fact he'd heard so much sound emanating from this direction. Ever the logical one, that Moony was. As the tawny haired male disappeared from view of the others, Prongs popped out from his selected bush and made a huff-like sound, before turning to see both Padfoot and Wormtail leave their spots as well.

"I think he's done it again." Padfoot noted, lifting one lofty eyebrow.

"As usual for Moony." Came Prongs' voice, matter-of-factly. A nod was the response he got from each boy.

"Well, shall we?" A grin had taken place on Padfoot's face and another duo of nods followed. With that Prongs, Padfoot, and Wormtail turned off towards the castle, leaving dear Moony to search for the hiders.

Most thought he'd be used to being a seeker and never fully seeking anything. It was a normal Marauder's thing- this Hide-&-Seek.
