Just A Dream

Chapter One

Jace stood at the end of a dark hallway. He tried to feel for the walls but there seemed to be none.
"Hello?" He called out. He heard nothing but his echo return to him. Suddenly at the other end of the hallway a single light shone down. There in the spotlight was Clary. It was like Agramon all over but this time it just seemed far more real.

"Clary!" He yelled. He wanted to run to her but he couldn't. His feet felt like they were glued to the floor. Clary's fiery red hair was strewn everywhere. Her beautiful silver dress was now torn. Clary's sad, helpless green eyes stared at him. Her hands were bloodied and tears ran down her face.

"Jace." She whispered. With that Clary came falling down to the ground.

Jace jolted up in his bed. Sweat dripped down his forehead. His breaths were heavy as he awoke from the nightmare. Jace looked around his bedroom, which once was plain with simple white walls was now covered with photos of him and Clary. He slowly reached for the photo of him and Clary at Central Park. His arms were wrapped tightly around her shoulders as she smiled brightly and took the picture. Just the thought of her getting hurt seemed to make Jace snap. The frame broke for Jace had squeezed it so hard in frustration.

"Fuck." He muttered. He tossed the broken glass away but saved the photo. Jace took one more breath and for the rest of night lied awake.

Clary arrived at the Institute for training. Jace dragged himself downstairs.

"Jace." Clary said with a gaping mouth. "What's wrong?" Jace's usually perfect golden hair was tousled and his eyes were tired. Clary took his hand. He seemed to flinch at her touch. Clary didn't say anything.

"Just tired." He replied.

"You look like you didn't get any sleep." Jace shook his head.

"I'm fine."

"You sure?" Again he just nodded. Jace got ready and went to train with Clary. Within minutes Clary had pushed Jace down easily. With the 11th strike Jace stayed down on the mat. Clary stared for a moment, but sat next to him.

"Jace," She whispered. Jace had his hands covering his face. "Look at me." Her light hand moved his hands away. His deep blue eyes look up at her.
"If something's bothering you, please tell me." Clary said with a hint of despair in her voice. She hated to see Jace like this. Her fingers gently touched his face, pushing away a strand of hair out of his eyes.

"Clary," He said sitting up and taking her hands in his. Clary stared at him.

"I'm fine. I promise." He smiled. Clary wasn't buying it.

"See?" He gave her a light kiss on the cheek. Clary just smiled back and kissed him lightly. Jace decided it was best to stop being depressing and push the thought away. It was just a dream right?

So that was chapter one. What do you guys think? Should I continue? Just R&R! Thanks 3
