Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon!

The sun shone on that special day as two trainers sat outside a large building in a patch of grass, a picnic laid out before them, their Pokemon close-by. One of the trainers was a boy aging about thirteen with black hair and brown eyes, wearing clothes that fitted the late Fall, and a funny looking red cap upon his head. On his right sat his six Pokemon, a beaver-like Bibarel, a light bulb looking Rotom, a cat-like Espeon, a feathery Staraptor, a pine tree-like Snover, and an unusually large, turtle-like Torterra. All except for the Torterra were eating, for the giant turtle was asleep.

On the other hand, the other trainer was a girl about the boy's age with almost navy colored hair, blue eyes, and was dressed for the early Winter, topped with a white beanie hat. On her left, was her Pokemon, a monkey-like Monferno, a similar to a dog Glaceon, a little yellow mouse called Pikachu, a human-shaped Riolu, a dinosaur plant Bulbasaur, and a sea serpent look alike,Milotic. All but the Bulbasaur were eating, for it was asleep.

The two trainers were eating sandwiches in silence before the girl spoke up.

"So, your trying again to be the champion, huh?" she asked as she bit into her lunch.

"Yeah," the boy answered. "Last time, I was horrible. I can't believe how badly Flint beat me!"

"You still did pretty good against Bertha and Aaron," she told him.

"Yeah, thats true," he replied. "But I have to beat all five of them! And there's the champion left after that!"

"True, but I bet you can beat them."

"Maybe. Hey, I wonder what the champions like. I bet he's amazing!"

"You don't even know if the champions a boy! For all we know, the champions some old lady who could kick your butt!"

"Hah! I know the champs a guy. All the others in other regions are guys."

"That doesn't mean anything."

The girl sighed. She then turned to her friend and asked,

"Lucas? Do you think you'll win?"

"Oh, I don't know Dawn. I hope so, though."

"Me too. I think you'll destroy the Elite Four this time!"

Lucas laughed.

"Maybe, Dawn. Maybe..."

~:)*(:~

Later, as Lucas finished preparing for the challenge, a little spot of yellow hopped onto his shoulder. He turned his head in surprise to find a Pikachu sitting on his shoulder. He smiled at it, and turned his head back. He was surprised again when he found Dawn standing in front of him, smiling. She slowly approached him, as Pikachu hopped onto the ground, and he was enlightened at what she did.

She lightly pecked him on his cheek.

"Good luck," she whispered as she backed away. Pikachu hopped onto her shoulder, and she left, as she wasn't supposed to be in the room where they were. Lucas just smiled as she departed.

"Wow! That was amazing!"

"Who would've thought that a kid would defeat Cynthia!"

"Go, Lucas!"

Lucas smiled what was probably the biggest smile of his young life as he held that trophy up high, the onlookers cheering.

He was the first teenager to have ever defeated the champion.

He scanned the crowd, but was disappointed to find his partner was not one of them. He tried to keep his frown from appearing, and as he did so, he suddenly felt someone wrap their arms around him. He turned his eyes back to find Dawn, who was gleefully hugging him.

"That was awesome, Lucas!" she shouted as the crowd continued to roar. As all that was going on, he felt something warm against his cheeks.

Dawn's lips.

I admit that this was kinda short, but I hope it was enjoyable! Thanks for reading! R&R! :)
