Remus Lupin rummaged through the wreck to find the dead bodies of his two best friends. He was quite certain that Harry was alive because it was recently proclaimed that he was the boy who lived. He looked further more but to his great frustration, he couldn't find the bodies. He was on his way off the wreck property when he stepped on something. He looked down to find a notebook.

He picked it up and apparated off the property. He went to his house and dumped the notebook out of harm's way. He continued to think and worry about what Harry's life would be with the muggles. He thought that he might be well cared for and loved because of his situation. Boy was he wrong, because at the very moment that he was thinking of a good life for Harry, Harry was being shoved inside a cupboard because his Aunt fainted.

Harry Potter was playing Quidditch outside the Burrow. He was glad to be home, he was glad that Dumbledore let him stay at the Burrow that summer. He was starting his fifth year at Hogwarts. He had fun, playing amongst friends and people that treated him as family.

Remus Lupin was looking for a perfect gift for Harry, he was envious that Sirius gave Harry a Firebolt and he couldn't think of anymore thing that could top-off that one. Then he came across the diary that he had found at the Potter's premises. He flipped the pages and found it empty. He didn't even consider that he's a wizard and anything could be magical.

He carefully covered the old notebook and proceded in his companion's (Sirius) bedroom to see what he got for Harry. His mouth opened wide to see that Sirius Black was polishing a trunk labeled Harry. He saw that it was a Quidditch ball set. He couldn't believe that an ex-convict could afford or even be trusted to buy such a gorgeous gift. He didn't think Harry needed a Quidditch set but he was feeling quite ashamed because he was going to give Harry an old diary. But little does he know that the diary was far more important than a whole Quidditch set.
