Fanfic: No reason at all. (A Joy x Sadness short story)
It was a bit late at night, Riley was already sleeping and Joy had night duty tonight but Sadness was next to her too; while both of them were watching Riley's dreams, Joy pushed some buttons, for Sadness that was weird to see.
S: Why did you push those buttons? nothing's even going on right now
Joy didn't answer right away, she just thought for a proper answer.
J: Well, I don't know; I mean… Haven't you ever just felt so happy for none particular reason?
That question sounded weirder to Sadness.
S: What? No, I haven't
Now it was Joy who was surprised for the answer
J: Really? Because that happens to me all the time; so… are you saying you always need a reason to feel good?
S: Well… yeah; I thought that was normal; but… now that I think about it, I've never really needed a reason to feel sad, that has happened to me all my life.
Sadness sobbed a little and Joy felt pity for her; so Joy approached to her and put a hand on Sadness' head
J: It's ok, don't worry
Then Joy began to stroke her hair and whispered
J: I promise you that I'll be here for you; I'll always help you to find at least one single reason to make you feel happy.
And then she pressed a soft kiss on Sadness' forehead
When Sadness felt Joy's kiss, she closed her eyes; she was now crying inside for happiness, it was a bit dark in the room but Sadness' face was blushing
S: Yeah, I can see now that you are really great at doing that.
They both stayed late watching over Riley's dreams with her hands together and giving each other a warm embrace.
Before saying goodbye I need to say something first; this fanfic is based on a little comic I saw in deviantart page; I know I can't post the link so I recommend you to look for an artist called: catharticaagh.
If you love or are interested in Joy and Sadness' shipping, you'll love her drawings; I just wanted to say all this because it is totally fair to say that without her comic, the idea for this short fanfic wouldn't have been possible so I really recommend her drawings.
