p class="MsoNormal" "Now Fraiya, you need to go to bed," her mother said. /p
p class="MsoNormal" "Just one last story?" The little Veela asked, kneeling on her bed in front of her mother./p
p class="MsoNormal" "Alright." the mother grabbed a book off the top shelf, brushed off the dust, and brought it to her daughter's bed. "This is a story of old Veelas and how they truly learned to control their magic." The little girl smiled. The story went like this./p
p class="MsoNormal" strong There once was a young woman. Fair in her beauty, she gathered the attention of all the boys in her village. She although betrothed to the most wealthy man in the village, she could not truly love him, for he did not love her for more than her beauty. After her marriage, she ran away and lived in a nearby forest. Living off the lake water, the lady stayed there for 3 months. /strong/p
p class="MsoNormal"strong In the forest, the woman saw a strange figure, part man, part beast, but he wasn't scared of her and not her of him. They grew to love the man and eventually bared his 10 children, all females. All the girls had their mother's looks. Some were gifted hair of gold, others hair of fire, and still, hair of bark. They all had their father's green eyes. They lived in the forest, the twelve of them and were happy for the first year. /strong/p
p class="MsoNormal"strong The wealthiest man in the village, enraged with his wife, made a journey to find her. In the woods, he saw his wife and her ten daughters. They were not his; he knew it. The man yelled at her, calling her names no woman should be called, and he summoned the beast that lived in the forest with her, the father of her children. He realized two things, one his love had been married to another and two his children were being threatened. The part man part beast figure killed the man in gruesome ways and then dealt with his love. He could no longer trust her, so he cursed his children, they are to not grow up without a father and he moved away. /strong/p
p class="MsoNormal"strong As the children grew up, their mother saw a side that frightened her and also brought her joy. Like their father, her daughters too were part beast and grew beaks and wings when scared or angry. The woman taught her daughters manners and how to control their emotions. Finally, when the girls were grown, the woman and her ten daughters moved to another city. There they found people just like them. /strong/p
p class="MsoNormal"strong All the daughters married within the next years except one, the youngest and most beautiful, Gabrielle. She wasn't happy living in a world she knew. She moved away and grew to like a small village, like the one she grew up near. There she met a man, not one of her own, but he had powers of his own. He could do anything with his magic wand, and her heart was gone. In his palm lived her love and he learned to love her. They got married and they all lived happily Ever after./strong/p
p class="MsoNormal" /p
p class="MsoNormal" "I don't ever want to marry a human," the little girl said, "I want to marry someone like us, someone who is veela."/p
p class="MsoNormal" /p
p class="MsoNormal" Her mother laughed, "One day little Fraiya, you might change your mind."/p
