pYesterday you asked me
brIf I would ever leave
brOf all those times we spent together
brWould we always stay, forever.
pI said no, that I would stay
brI saw your face light up that May
brOf all the pain we went through
brOf all the things that changed,
brYou and I remained the same.
pWe've seen people come and go
brFamily, friends and so much more.
brI often wonder
brDoes love last forever?
pOr is it just a feeble tale,
brMade up to entertain.
brOr is it real as rain or snow
brOr as fake as everlasting life.
brThis I shall never know.
pOf all the trials that we have faced
brAll the danger that makes weep
brIn the dark places, we must borrow.
pA light to guide us through.
brAnd through that light,
brI have found you
pA shining beacon in my life
brSomeone to hold me late at night
brWhen I am scared
brWhen I am alone
pWithout you as my light
brI shall fall to a meaningless death
brAlone and cold
brAs I began.
pI find myself weary
brOh this burden of life
brBut taking one look into your eyes
brMaybe, I can fly.
