Chapter 1- Flying Cabbages
Delicious aromas wafted out of the Cat Café and lured people in for the lunch
rush. As people were going in and out, they were too busy to notice a bedraggled, wet,
and very angry cat sneak in through the window. The cat was making its way towards the
kitchen when it was intercepted by a little girl.
"Mommy, look at the kitty. Awwww, it's cute isn't it? I wanna hug it!"
The cat though would have none of that.
"Wahhh! The kitty hissed at me. It's a mean kitty. Wahhhh!"
The cat ignored the stares of the people and gracefully leaped over the counter. It landed at the feet of an ancient, diminutive woman.
"Shampoo, scaring the customers like that is bad for business. You know better," admonished the old woman in a gravely voice.
Cologne noticed Shampoo's ragged appearance and sighed.
"I take it that the encounter with son-in-law did not go well."
The cat hissed and glared impatiently at the hot water on the stove.
"Oh well, I guess the octopus ramen can wait." Cologne poured the water over the cat. In its place stood a beautiful woman- a beautiful, raging woman.
"How dare stupid, violent girl throw cabbage at Shampoo!" she exclaimed.
"Cabbage?" asked an amused Cologne as Shampoo put on some spare clothes she kept in the kitchen.
"Aiya," the agitated girl began to pace, "Shampoo was finished delivering ramen when she see Ranma walking with stupid girl Akane. Shampoo about to give Arien a loving embrace when she see cabbage flying towards her." She paused dramatically so that the full effect of her indignity would sink in.
"Shampoo dodge cabbage- off course- but landed on loose fence; stupid fence break and Shampoo fall in canal. Arien see kitty-Shampoo and ran away."
A bright battle aura formed around the fuming girl.
"As Shampoo walking home to get hot water, car almost drive over her, and
Shampoo fall in sewer. And this is all stupid Akane's fault!" The girl stopped pacing and stood quivering with rage.
Cologne shook her head. The relationship between Shampoo and Akane had
gotten even worse after the failed wedding. Akane became more aggressive towards Shampoo; now she aimed for Shampoo instead of Ranma when Shampoo decided to give her Arien one of her "too, too loving embraces." And Ranma, well Ranma just treated Shampoo with a cold friendliness.
She hopped over to the fuming girl and put a gnarled hand on her shoulder.
"Don't worry child. We'll think of something. Tomorrow's another day and all that."
Shampoo gave a curt nod and headed towards the door.
"Where are you going?" asked Cologne.
"To get Shampoo bike."
This was the unfortunate time that Mousse decided to make his appearance.
"Shampoo, you're back!" Mousse exclaimed happily and ran towards his beloved.
Shampoo dodged his outstretched arms and sent him flying.
"Stupid Mousse, Shampoo no have time for this!" With that, she ran out of the Cat Café.
Cologne watched Shampoo's retreating form thoughtfully.
"Hmm, she must really be mad. She hasn't kicked him that high in a while." Cologne frowned as a new realization dawned to her. "Great, now who is going to help me with the lunch rush?"
