tired of waiting
Vampire Diaries (Damon/Elena)
"Waiting is painful.
Forgetting is painful.
But not knowing what to do is the worse kind of suffering."
- Paulo Coelho
Elena gives a heavy sigh as she throws her suitcases into her car. Looking back towards her house, she closes her eyes to remember all the beautiful yet tragic memories growing up that lie inside.
"Goodbye Mystic Falls. Hello to a new life."
Ever since Damon left, because of her answer and decision to "I'll always be with Stefan", she realized too late that her answer resulted in him leaving and her mistake of letting him go. However, this realization came far too late, as this was the last straw to Damon's waiting for her to love him back.
After all the tried and ignored phone call attempts to Damon's cell phone, Elena knew his answer and felt tired of waiting for him to come home. The result of all the waiting became too tiring to overbear.
Looking down at her cell phone, she took out the SIM card and breaks it half, the pieces flying with the wind. A tear falls down her cheek as she shoves her phone into her pocket, as the last way of reaching into her old life is gone.
Elena climbs into the driver seat, turning on the engine's ignition. With one last look back, Elena steps on the gas pedal and leave, never to look back to her past and onto her future.
What she didn't know is that Damon finally answered to her voicemail, coming home to his promise that he made to stay, but only for her protection.
But while his car enters into Mystic Falls once again, Elena's car fades away cross the borderline, not knowing that her waiting has come to an end.
Sorry about the mysterious ending, but maybe, just maybe, I will make a sequel with another prompt.
