One Too Many

By Shadow Piccolo/Piedmon

As Hawkmon and Gatomon were playing a game of Crazy Eights one day, Veemon interrupted them and pulled Hawkmon aside. "Old buddy, ol' pal," charmed Veemon, "I need you to do me a favour."

"Why? What is it?" asked Hawkmon. Veemon, with a mischievous expression on his face, answered,

"I need you to make a fool of yourself in front of Gatomon."

"What?!" exclaimed a shocked Hawkmon, "Why, I'll never!"

"Oh c'mon!" pleaded Veemon, "If you look bad then that makes me look good in front of her…heheh." :D~~ Hawkmon knew how much Veemon liked Gatomon and Veemon's behaviour made a water droplet fall down Hawkmon's forehead. He would like to help Veemon but didn't want to perform his request. "Okay. Fine then!" Veemon said annoyed. He crossed his arms in front of his chest and pouted. Hawkmon began walking away until Veemon grabbed Hawkmon's shoulder and dragged him back. "I'll make you a deal then," Veemon suggested, "You're a tough guy and I'm a tough guy. Why don't we have a drinking contest to see who's stronger. The Digimon who wins will get what he wants." Veemon had a huge grin on his face. Hawkmon hesitated, although he considered drinking alcohol as a bad thing, he didn't want to wuss out on Veemon's challenge. You see…Hawkmon can be conceited at times and this was one-of-those-times. He believed that he was stronger than Veemon.

"Okay, you're on!" exclaimed Hawkmon.

"On about what?" Gatomon asked as she walked up to Veemon and Hawkmon. Veemon just smiled and said,

"You'll see soon…"

It was the 15th glass that Veemon and Hawkmon both swallowed. Hawkmon was smiling wildly. He knew that he was going to win easily. He didn't feel a bit dazed at all. Veemon, on the other hand, looked sternly at Hawkmon. The two were very determined to win the contest. "You're out of luck, Veemon!" exclaimed Hawkmon who was still smiling wildly. Veemon poured another glass for Hawkmon and him and gave one glass to Hawkmon. Hawkmon brought the glass up to his mouth and consumed it greedily. A splatter of the drink escaped his mouth and soaked his feathers. Veemon took note of Hawkmon's behaviour and pointed out,

"Looks like you're the one out of luck, Hawkmon." Veemon paused to swallow his drink and continued, "Look at you! You've made a mess of your feathers!" Hawkmon wiped his mouth with his arm and laughed hysterically.

"Me?!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" exclaimed Hawkmon. Then he got up and started to perform what looked liked a dance. "This is my Victory Dance, if you're wondering." Hawkmon paused to continue to dance. He did some unusual moves and did a headstand. "I'VE NEVER FELT BETTER!" continued Hawkmon.

"Hawkmon would you stop it?!" asked Gatomon, "You're obviously not feeling very well. You don't usually act like this!" Hawkmon did several cartwheels and answered,

"I'm fine! I'm fine! I'm fine! I'm fine! I'm fine! I'm fine! I'm fine!" as he performed the cartwheels. A huge water droplet fell down Gatomon's and Veemon's forehead.

"Oh gosh…" said Gatomon, "He's drunk!" Hawkmon stopped the cartwheels and started spinning himself around and around in circles. Veemon now had an amused expression on his face.

"Thanks, Hawkmon, for doing my favour," said Veemon. Hawkmon was oblivious to Veemon's words and continued to spin himself around.

"What favour Veemon?" asked Gatomon. Veemon smiled and said,

"Nothing. Just a favour between friends." Gatomon sat beside Veemon and they both continued gawking at Hawkmon.

"Wow, Veemon," said Gatomon, "How did you stand all those drinks?" A huge, fat grin appeared on Veemon's face. He leaned closer to Gatomon and whispered into her ear,

"The drinks were only soda."
