"Woah!" Peridot exclaims as she almost falls on her butt. She was talked into rollerblading with Steven, Connie, and Amethyst. Amethyst laughs at her and skates over to her to help her regain her balance.
"Don't lean back, Peri, you'll fall!" Amethyst explains through laughter.
"What is the point of this?!" Peridot yells, annoyed. "We should be working on the drill not be out here on these these rolling things of death?!"
"It's ok, Peridot. Pearl and Garnet are still working on it."
"Yeah and besides we need to take a break every once in a while. Oh! Let's go to that donut place!" Amethyst grabs Peridot's wrist and starts dragging her towards the Big Donut.
"Please explain, what is a donut?" Peridot asks, making a face.
"Oh! You'll love it! Trust me!" Steven says, taking the small green gem's other hand while Connie giggles and pushes her from behind, causing Peridot to grumble angrily, looking like she's about to have one of her infamous temper tantrums. They get inside and go over to the counter and Peridot stares at the donuts in the display, obviously confused and starts taking notes on the 'weird, round things'.
"Are these wheels?" She asks, looking up from her recorder and everyone either laughs or tries not to laugh at the poor, confused little alien.
"No, these are donuts," Sadie explains. "You can try one on the house since it's obviously your first one." She starts taking one out for Peridot.
"You want me to take one onto the roof?" The green gem asks, raising an eyebrow.
"No, she means that it's free," Steven explains.
"Free?" Amethyst laughs at Peridot and Peridot joins in, happy that she made Amethyst laugh.
"Oh boy. We have a lot to teach you, don't we?" Amethyst asks and Connies eyes light up.
"I can teach you about Earth's culture! Well at least the culture from around here anyways," Connie offers, narrowing it down knowing that if she doesn't the poor green gem will be even more confused later on.
"I can teach you about food," Amethyst says and Peridot smiles weirdly at her.
"Yeah! We can teach her after working on the drill everyday like an hour before we go to bed!" Steven says, happily as he collects their donuts. "Let's start right now!"
"Since we just got food I think I should teach her first. Hey, Peri, this is a donut," she says, holding one up and Peridot grabs one and holds it up like Amethyst is holding hers, smiling nervously, earning a few giggles in response.
"What now?" The green g asks, very confused.
"Now you shove it into your eating hole!" She shoved her entire donut into her mouth and Peridot follows her example.
"Now what?" She asks through a full mouth and Amethyst just laughs at her.
"Swallow it!"
"What?"
"Uh, Amethyst, doesn't she have to make organs and stuff first?" Connie whispers, remebering what Steven had told her about gems and eating.
"What? Oh yeah! Ok, Peri, shapeshift some organs and then swallow," Amethyst says.
"Organs?" Peridot asks through her whole mouth. Steven's eyes light up and he gets his phone out and types on it.
"Here, shapeshift these into your body," he says, handing her the phone. He had looked up images of the human body. She stares at it and then closes her eyes, focusing on shape shifting the organs into her body.
"Now I just swallow it?" She asks and they all nod. She does so. "Now what?"
"Now you wait until it comes out," Amethyst says, laughing.
"Comes back out?" the little green gem's eyes widen in realization. "Aw crap."
