Enjoy! ^_^
"James! Sirius!" came an exasperated voice from the portrait hole. A very dripping wet Remus Lupin was glaring at his friends.
"Oh, hello Moony. You're wet, did you notice?" Sirius said nonchalantly, tossing his Transfiguration textbook aside.
"Yes. Yes. Yes, I am wet. And d'you know whose fault that is?" Remus stood wringing out his robes for a minute before he remembered himself and cast a Drying Charm.
"Whose? Surely we haven't been pranking in our sleep again," James said with a grin.
Remus ignored him. "Yours," he snarled. "Your fault. Sancha and Abigail cornered me after Arithmancy and wanted to know why Sirius and James weren't talking to them." He sent them a withering look. "They didn't take the answer well."
"What, you actually answered them?" Sirius snorted.
"Ah, Moony. Sit down." James scooted over on the sofa and pulled Remus into the vacated spot between him and Sirius.
"Now," James said. "Sirius is going to explain something very important. Try to pay attention." And he conjured a bowl of chocolates form the home of an unsuspecting Muggle.
Sirius took two. "See, Moony, chocolates are wonderful. Delicious, enjoyable- good stuff all around. So when a chocolate shows up, you eat it." He gave the unrelentingly grumpy boy beside him his most winning smile. "But, what if there are two chocolates? Or three? Or two hundred and eighty-one? (Excluding those nasty Slytherin chocolates, of course.) Wouldn't you eat as many as you can to maximize enjoyment?"
"No!" Remus gave his friend a disbelieving look. "No, I wouldn't. I'd eat one chocolate, and stick to that one chocolate, so that other chocolates wouldn't get jealous and weepy and angry and push my best mates into the lake!" And with that, Remus stormed up to the dorms.
"I don't think he learned the lesson," James remarked bemusedly.
"Stop staring, you lot," Sirius barked at a gaggle of first years. They turned hurriedly away. Sirius reached for a chocolate, only to yelp and yank his hand away as the bowl of chocolates zoomed upstairs after Remus.
