I don't even know where this came from.

Disclaimer: ...Seriously? I lay no claim to any of this stuff.

It was a fact that he could deny not much longer.

He needed help.

Not the kind of help that stemmed from trouble, but the kind of help that stemmed from circumstance, when things just got too confusing and complicated to be able to reliably sort through it alone. He needed the kind of help that would take the form of an able-bodied person that wouldn't ask pointless questions and would stick to the task at hand, and would know not only their limits but his as well so that they could force him to take a break when he needed one (oh, he knew full well that he pushed himself too hard, but he was too stubborn to admit it). He needed the kind of help that could learn quickly and was more than trustworthy, so that on days that he couldn't make it in they could run things nearly as smoothly.

The only problem was, hardly anybody on Radiant Garden met those expectations and wasn't already working at a different job.

His only hope of finding help would be with the refugees that still trickled in from time to time, and he highly doubted that somebody who he had never met before would be able to work to his standards.

What Leon didn't know was that he would find help not only in the form of a refugee, but in the form of a sixteen-year-old that could actually make him smile from time to time.

It was a secret he had that hardly anybody knew.

At some point or another, he wanted to settle down.

Not necessarily settle down in the form of a house, fence, kids, and a dog, but more in the sense of having someone he was deeply connected to that he wanted to be with for as long as possible. He wanted somebody that wouldn't be exactly like him so that he could be introduced to new experiences and have interesting conversations that could take unexpected turns but still keep him entertained. At the same time, he wanted somebody that shared some of his characteristics so that there could be some continued form of the order that he has so pain-stakingly created, and so that the number of disagreements they could have over differences is lowered by a considerable amount.

However, due to him being a rather unsociable person, he rarely was able to meet someone he didn't constantly work with.

Not only that, but many of the singles on Radiant Garden were too different from him to begin with, and he wasn't willing to compromise his few expectations just to find that one person he could share his life with.

What Leon didn't know was that he would find his somebody because the sixteen-year-old that could make him smile from time to time knew someone who was just perfect for him.
