Warnings: Hell and scenes of torture. (And don't ask why a prompt of cozy led me there!)
The worst thing isn't physical pain. It isn't the knives, flashing dull red in the half-light, or his entrails glistening when Alistair wraps them round him - obscene bracelets, or the constant bone-deep cold.

The absolute worst thing is this.
"Well now, isn't this just cozy. So touching to see how you cling together."
Dean just holds on tighter; buries his face in Sam's hair, trying to breathe nothing but the scent of Sam – warm human skin, safety, home…knowing this separation always hurts more than anything else Hell has to offer.
Alistair laughs, every time, as he drags Dean away.
