Title: Do it again.
It was a quiet day at HQ, Everyone left to presume there normal lives. L and Light sat alone, L taking quick and un-noticed glances towards Light, who sat there stiff in his chair, Reading over some files on the latest victims...
What are you reading Light? L asked curiously rolling his chair over, stairing his black owlish eyes at the screen over Lights sholder.
Light glanced at the older man rolling his eyes. "Stop it! that bugs me when you read over my sholder!" he said, his tone strick and wavering with annoyed and just plain peev'd"
"Does Light not enjoy when people read over his sholder?" L asked a silent threat behind the words.
"No, Its just annoying, now get back to work Ryuuzaki" Light said firmly going back to reading.
..."23%" ... was heard mumbled in the back ground.
"What did you just say?" Light said, now letting his calm mask fall.
"Nothing" L replied monetoned, not passing a glance at the angered teen.
"I think I heard something!" Light replied, Now for the detective he was very used to this now, the cracking sanity of the teen would usally happen at least twice a week, He grown use to it and found his reactions amusing. But at the end of each day, he always wished his percentages were wrong, That HE was for once wrong, That this was just all made up, That there was a venge-ful God, Out there...wanting revenge on humanity.
But L knew other wise, He knew it was wrong to think such a way, he knew it was wrong to even consider freeing Light, making him go the right path after all he has done.
. He always did.
...He knew it was wrong to love the teen, Love was such a questionible manner to L, he never knew what it was like, He grew up with out it, Only his care taker Watari passing "love" towards him. But L would always pass it off as friendly, knowing if he got to close, he would get burned in the end.
Listening to Misa rant on about what it was like, L had a gut twisting feeling that this was it.
And he accepted it.
But the Kira investigation is what brought him and Light together, and for that he was thankful.
Because, In truth.
If he were to have the choice of so many killed, hurt, harmmed in this manner, He would for once be selfish for his own feelings. Would of tooken advantage of what he had befor it got out of hand.
He would of shown Light how to love him too.
Because, He was selfish. He wanted something for once in his life he could call his own and be proud, Not a title of a un-known person...
A man with a name but no face, was not his goal to have when he was small.
Because when it came down to the Kira investigation, Light, murder, Love.
He would do it all again. Just for a second chance.
