Maka shows sympathy for her father just this once, just a little.

"Oh Maka, where did I go wrong with your mother?" Spirit sighs as he starred at his pig-tailed daughter.

Maka sighed as she looked at her dad with annoyance.

"Maybe you shouldn't have hit on all those big breasted bimbos and stayed with mother." She answers her her father's question with obvious annoyance as she turns away from him and with a huff and crossed her arms.

"MAKA!" her father cries.

Maka releases a sigh once again as she turns to her father and decides to take pity on him.

"Dad, do you remember what grandad used to tell you?" Maka says as she looks at Spirit pointedly.

Spirit raises his index finger to his chin in contemplation.

"No, can't say that I do. Why?" he asks his daughter with a thoughtful look.

"Well as he had always say, 'In marriage there always three rings. The engagement ring, the wedding ring and the suffering'."
