In the limo, Cagalli stares pointedly at her gloves. She moves her ring finger ever so slightly and Yuna knows she is thinking about that insignificant little boyfriend she had a while back. Still playing the martyr, it seems...
Of course, he's never loved her –never even liked her, really; but he's become very good at playing his part, being the devoted fiancé. If only Cagalli would put as half as much effort into being a blushing bride, it would all be worth it. However, as it stands, the girl is as far away from the blissful bride as can be; blushing only when Yuna tells her off for her inferior linguistic abilities. If she could only put a little effort into propagating the illusion, then this wedding would feel more like a victory.
What does she have to cry about anyways? An affair with a coordinator that was never going to work out –please! That's a small tragedy; a blip of hardly any worth in a complex network of politics and intrigue that she knows nothing about. If anything, she's lucky to be marrying him. Married to Yuna, Cagalli can finally give up on grappling this world and retreat to doing what she does best –winning the hearts of Orb citizens by playing the part of The Rebellious Princess. She can jump into small, media-friendly initiatives while the men discuss the issues of actual concern.
Meanwhile, Cagalli continues to look miserable. The girl needs to get herself together! Does she not realize how detrimental her behaviour is to the image they're trying to create? Doesn't she know that she's raining on his victory parade?
Finally, he snaps at her. He can't stand anymore of her self-pity.
"At least try to look happy," he says, causing her to cry.
