Hmmm...well, it isn't much, I know, but it came into my head while I was visiting my nanna today, so I came home and wrote it down. My posting sucks - I freely and unashamedly admit it. Life is busy at the minute. I'm sorry.
By the way- this could offend some Christians. And Jews, actually. If you don't like the idea of me basically ripping off Genesis One and putting Kai and Rei in the place of God and messing everything around then don't read this, you'll hate it, and if you're masochistic enough to read it even though I warned you, don't bitch. I'll ignore you.
In the beginning, there was only Rei. Alone in the universe, crying and afraid. His tears streamed forth, staining the darkness. Lost, he held out his hand. An answering hand found his and held on tightly. Now, Rei had Kai. Kai drew a blanket of light about them, distracting Rei from the darkness. And for that day, it was enough.
The next day, Kai swept his hand through Rei's fallen tears, clearing a space in the middle so that they could stand beside each other. Kai smiled at Rei, taking his hand. Rei smiled back, and he knew that for that day, it was enough.
The next day, Rei showed Kai how much he loved him by making a flat plain to dance on in the midst of all the tears. As his feet hit the ground, flowers and trees began to grow, following him as he leapt in delight. Kai watched him, smiling, and for that day, it was enough.
The next day, Kai laid on a hill with Rei and drew patterns in the sky, making twinkling lights here and there, and a big light in the middle. Rei laughed, and called them the sun and the stars. He drew a middle-sized light, paler and more serene, and Kai wisely called it moon. They cuddled together on the hilltop and knew that for that day, it was enough.
The next day, they leapt over the water and gilled, splashing creatures followed in their wake. Winged creatures soared with them, calling as Kai and Rei called each other. On another plain, on another coast, Rei and Kai landed and kissed each other gently. As their creations thrived around them, they knew that for that day, it was enough.
The next day, Rei made animals to make Kai smile. Horses, bats, spiders, rats, rabbits...none were good enough. Rei sent them off to play on the plains, disappointed. Eventually, he made an animal as much like Kai as he could. It was smaller, and weaker, and a bit uglier, but quite like him in appearance. When Kai held Rei's hand and ventured closer, the animal spat at them and snarled, running away. Rei cried bitter tears, seeing that none of his creations were good enough for Kai. His tears rose into the sky and dropped as rain, washing him away, washing Kai away.
And the last animal Rei had created smiled at this, and saw that it was good.
R&R?
