The rain skims of the windscreen and the gentle subdued sound of other cars as they busily rush past towards their journeys end. The street lights streak in lines reflected off the droplets of water on the car bonnet. Skidding through the town it slides towards its destination its wheels spinning into a blur of silver aluminium with a small black emblem in the middle. The car swerves and pulls up to a house. He uneasily gets out the car closing the door behind him and walks to the boot; he pulls out the bushy green fir tree and drags it to the door of the house breathing heavily he props it against the side of the house and takes out his keys turning them in the lock slowly hopeful that no one will hear him.
He's in trouble, but he's hoping that the large tree he found will go some way towards his forgiveness, with any luck a hell of a long way! He opens the door and pulls the tree into the living room, plops it into the prepared pot and flops on the sofa. "JACK" he groans and waits for the impending lecture, it wasn't his fault the game turned into a drink and a meal with old friends, her friends too but she couldn't go due to the –"That tree is beautiful" she interrupts his thoughts. "I uh, im sorry that im late an' all", he gets to his feet brushes and of the muck on his shirt from dragging the tree in. "Jack, that doesn't matter, its not often you have a guys day out anyway" she sniffles and shuffles towards him and launches herself into his arms. "Jesus, Carter any other time when you're not pregnant I'd be happy to catch you but right now I'd say my back is hurting almost as much as it would if I had to carry teal'c" she giggles and rests her head on his shoulder. "Im glad you're hear jack", "im glad im here to Sam" he says rubbing her back slowly. "And im glad that we're having our first child together" she says snuffling again, "Me too" he says murmuring into her hair. "Im glad you love me" she wraps her arms around him losing herself in the comfort of his arms. "And im glad that you love me back" he says as the pine fragrance fills the room.
