Everything Burns.
Disclaimer: I don't own Pirates of the Caribbean.
This was turning out to be one of the worst days ever in Elizabeth Swann's life. First she was being forced to marry Commodore James Norrington. Then she had been kidnapped by pirates. Now said pirates had marooned her on an island.
But Elizabeth wasn't alone. Also marooned was one Captain Jack Sparrow. Elizabeth and Jack had first met when he saved her from drowning. She immediately hated him. The prospect of possibly spending the rest of her life stuck on an island with this man scared Elizabeth. Very much. It wasn't all bad though.
Elizabeth did teach Jack a song she knew from her childhood. It was called "Yo-Ho (A Pirates Life for Me)." Jack loved that song. He said he would even teach it to his crew. If he ever his ship, The Black Pearl, back.
Deep down inside, Elizabeth felt very lonely. Jack was nice company and all. But Elizabeth missed the civilized people she was used to dealing with. She missed her father. She even missed Commodore Norrington. The person she missed the most, however, was Will Turner. He was a blacksmith, and the man Elizabeth really loved. She knew he loved her as well. But she'd never admit her feelings for Will. A governor's daughter is too good for a lowly blacksmith.
Night fell over the island. Jack was sound asleep. He had passed out from too much rum. Elizabeth stared out at the sea. A single tear rolled down her cheek.
I have to get off this island, she thought to herself. Too bad there isn't a dinghy in sight. Then it hit her. She would make a signal fire, using the provisions the Rumrunners left behind.
Elizabeth ran down into the Rumrunner's secret compartment. She came back holding two cases of rum. She brought them to a spot between two palm trees.
Elizabeth made several more trips back to that cellar. She got more rum, and whatever else she could find down there. Soon she had everything she needed.
Then Elizabeth ripped the palm fronds right off the trees. She placed them over the supplies. She also doused everything in oil. Then everything was set aflame.
Elizabeth worked all through the night, re- arranging and adding things to keep the fire going. It was tiring work. But it was all worth it. Elizabeth was desperate to get off this island. But she wasn't prepared for the reaction Jack would have to the sight the next morning.
The End.
A/N: 1) I feel this is a good place to end my story. We all know what happens next.
2) This is NOT, I repeat NOT a Sparabeth story. I'd never write one of those. I'm a Willabether. But I think people who have read I Just Can't Wait to be Pirate King, The Dutchman Will be My Ship, or, most recently While I Keep on Dreaming for Me, might have already figured that out. Just to make it fair however, if Sparrabeth supporters want to see it as a Sparrabeth story, go ahead. I won't be too mad at you. I personally want this to be seen as a Jack/Elizabeth friendship story. And I use the term friendship VERY lightly. I'm not even sure if that's the proper word to describe this story. Because it is about how she burned his rum. What kind of friend would do that?
3) After this, I'm taking a break from Pirates of the Caribbean fics. No, it has nothing to do with Writer's Block, as was the case with some of my breaks in the past. I actually have about 2 or 3 story ideas in my head. I just feel that I need a break. I written one Pirates fic after another, after another, after another. That can get pretty boring after awhile. And there are other fandoms I've been meaning to write for, or some that I want to get back to. I'll write another Pirates story when I finish up with everything else.
